Chole discovered this place some time ago, but last night we were in the appropiate condition to give it a try. So we got us some deep fried macaroni and cheese wedges, some deep fried breaded sweet corn bites, A Fat Sandy sandwich (on a hoagie bun, two cheeseburger patties, mac & cheese, chicken fingers, onion hoops, potato wedges, and mozzarella sticks, served with fries), A Fat Hungry Morning (On a hoagie bun, chicked fried steak, bacon, and sausage gravy, I added hashbrowns to the sandwich, which was a crowning touch) some deep fried cheesecake, Death by chocolate, and deep fried twinkies. This morning I’m having a little gastro-intestinal distress, but wow was it worth it.
I don’t know how many dopers are in the Sarasota, FL area, but this place is incredible and deserves your patronage. Open from 4:20 PM until 4:20 AM, and it delivers, this restaurant fills a niche that I have often felt went quite unfullfilled. There needs to be one of these in every collage town, and young urban neighborhood.
Can you believe some people go their whole lives without ever trying a deep fried twinkie? It’s just kind of sad.
