Late Night with Craig Ferguson (the end thereof)

March 9, 2015.

The Chicago Bears need a new coach, Smithy.

I missed tonight’s, but I saw enough of last night’s to see the James Corden introduction. That was cute.

Josh Robert Thompson took the centre stage in the cold open tonight. Very cool. Maybe we’ll get to see who it is in the Secretariat costume next.

Going out on a limb there, eh?

Those were lovely. He seems to have no shame at all - I just think he might do.

I remember it and I laughed so hard.

I hope so. And JRT does not at all look like what I had in my head. Not even close. I imagined a fifty year old white guy. (Not a young hot white guy. I don’t even like beards…shut up self, I guess I do!)

Well, that’s it for that. I liked the show - Jay was actually a really good interview - it was fun to see him and Craig comparing notes on being a long-term talk show host. And we finally got to see the guy behind the horse mask - who would have expected that?!?

Yep. I really enjoyed the song he started off with too. A lot of fun.

That opening musical number was fantastic. Pure joy.

That was cute. And it offered a good opening for paying tribute to Mr. C (who’s been mentioned more than once as someone Craig is grateful to, for giving him that boost to national prominence).

In the ending they managed to hit on most of the finale-surprises in recent television history. I was thinking “where’s the shower?” but then realized that the Dallas shower wasn’t part of a show-finale.

I counted two besides the D. C. reference. Maybe I’m not that up on all the injokes.

Great way to end the show! The opening number was great and I loved seeing good ole Mr. Wick again at the end.

 No thanks; I’m well familiar with Corden’s work. Not my cup of tea I’m afraid.

I got only three in addition to DC: (St. Elsewhere, The Sopranos, and of course *Newhart *itself --but surely that does hit on all the major finale-surprises (in US television, anyway).

The snow globe was cute. I wonder if it will be displayed on the set of Craig’s next show?

The finale started off great. Then Leno came out …

What a waste of a prime interviewee slot.

Then the ending was cool. Got the other show ending references.

BTW: Drew Carey is the first and last guest host in the interregnum.

I know they tape a lot of episodes back-to-back, but having the finale being one of those is a shame.

And Geoff is gone. Sniff.

He’s worlds away from my usual type, but I always though Leather Boy was hot. Glad to see him back for the finale.

He sure was a little cutey.
