Hello, for some reason I seem to be addicted to late night television infomercials. Everything seems so neat on TV, then I order it and it is as usual junk…
From experience…(dont laugh)
Fuzuoko 2000 - junk
Magic white - any cleaner is as good.
Forman Grill - actually not that bad.
So now, I wonder about the stop anxiety tapes. Without posting a long story about my personal life, I would just like to know if they are as magical as they claim and worth my time at all. Thank you.
Truth be told, someone very close to me ordered those tapes (if they are the same one’s you’re describing, they probably are, total cost of 3-4 hundred sound about right?).
They came soon enough, nice big box, lots of tapes and reading material. My friend listened to the first tape and read some of the material, seemed like a valid program and approach. They ended up sending the set back though for two reasons: 1) the basic cost, and 2) they decided to take their doctor’s recommendation and try Paxil and little psychotherapy instead.
Are they worth it? That’s a tough question.
Are they magic cures? Hell no. There’s nothing in them that you won’t find on the self-help shelves at the local mega-bookstore. Unless you’ve got the time, energy, and willpower to use the material and follow through on the exercises and suggestions, they are just going to gather dust. Just listening to them won’t do you a bit of good unless you want to change.
But if you dedicate yourself to trying the program and addressing the root causes of the anxiety, they may help.
(Usual disclaimer: I am not a psykotherapist or a very good speller. The above advice should not take the place of talking to your doctor. Medication can and does help.)
