Lateral Thinking Puzzles. Let's do it again!

Is Y being use to signify “no” and N being used to signify “yes”?

Is the animal involved microscopic?
Are we talking about a physical object that you can touch? An idea? A letter? A word? A body part? A sense?

If Y is no, then the answer to the question is no. But if the answer is no then Y does not signify no. Hence Y is yes. But if Y is yes that indicates that Y is no.

DOES NOT COMPUTE!

Y=Yes
N=No

But in the interest of fairness I recommend
paying attention to the thoughts of lateral thinker SurrenderDorothy.

When you use these things, are they in some specific geometric relation to each other ?

Do these things make sound?

There is a certain something most everyone uses frequently. Right now on a table in my living room, there are two of them, though I suppose there might soon be a third and even a fourth if my wife or I desire. But we both agree that’s where it stops!

If you were to use them and were to ask me about it, I would surely be able to tell you why. Therefore you should be able to tell me what my wife and I are currently using them for. What?

Does the specific geometric relation involve:
Being pointed the same way?
Being pointed opposite to each other?
Being oriented towards a common point?

When you have multiple ones of these object, do they generally appear indistinguishable from each other?

Do you look at these objects while using them?

OK, @Biotop spoiled me, and even with the spoiler, I’m still not entirely sure whether this puzzle is “by the rules”, so to speak. I guess I might say that it’s not by the rules, but in a way that’s fair? I dunno.

And for the record, no, I’m not trying to give a cleverly-worded hint in this post. Nor is this post meant as a question for Biotop to answer.

Would it be possible for someone to borrow this object from you?
If someone were to borrow it/them, take it home, and use it in the way you and your wife are using it, assuming they otherwise took good care of it, would they be able to return it in the same condition as it is now and would it still be exactly as useful to you as it is now?
If you were to get a third one, would you (or anyone) be able to get it at, say, WalMart? Etsy? A specialty store? Amazon?
The way you and your wife are using them, are you using them together, both of you at the same time, or one at a time?
Can they be used by just one person or is interacting with the other person part of using them?
Do children normally use them? Toddlers?

I 've had this idea for a while about somehow creating a lateral thinking puzzle which required lateral thinking about the nature of the puzzle itself. Then when I looked at our living room table the idea sort of finally began to germinate and this was the result. I will leave it for solvers to judge the fairness after the answer is revealed.

Here is some help, folks:

It might seems that the Y/N answers are almost arbitrary, but this is not so. If I was hit by a meteor and Chronos had to take over the puzzle, he would answer the questions the same way.

My hope is the answers I have given, and the reasons for those answers, will point to what was going on atop our living room table. Unfortunately those same answers obviously may not specifically answer the particular question to which they are applied. I appreciate some may be frustrated by that. But you can figure this out! Look at the answers I have given and think about why!

Right now I’m thinking it’s a Ouiji Board and Mr & Mrs Biotop are asking it our questions and responding back with the answer Ouiji is giving.

Once you heard the answer and reread the question/answers, did the puzzle make sense in a way the others in this thread did?

Hey I know that asking Chronos about the puzzle isn’t in the rules but we were told to think laterally about the game (which may or may not be playing by the rules itself) so I say it’s fair.

This is a brilliant answer, and while not the correct one it should be. Just awesome.

Let’s try this:

Would it be possible for someone to borrow this object from you?
The way you and your wife are using them, are you using them together, both of you at the same time, or one at a time?
If you were to get a third one, would you (or anyone) be able to get it at, say, WalMart? Etsy? A specialty store? Amazon?

I am fine with Chronos, if he desires, answering any questions as they are normally answered in a LTP. Maybe that will break the impasse.

My answer to your question, however, would be Y.
