What if he was looking over at the Palin residence, then complaining in his blog about what he sees there? – Wait, isn’t that what Ms Palin is doing with the McGuinness residence?
This. And this:
Rufus, Facebook is already an unconscionable time-suck, even if you confine your activities to your own page and that of your RL acquaintances. Why in the world are you hanging out on Caribou Barbie’s?
I thik I agree that it is highly likely that he isn’t just there by coincidence. But still, I would think Palin in all her freedom-loving zeal she would think that this is America and he can live where he wants and if she don’t like it she could move or she could have bought the house next door herself. Of course she is also free to complain about it and I don’t see her doing anything other than vent about it, which I have no problem with (and I really don’t like SP).
I followed a link.
FWIW, I don’t have a Facebook page of my own - I’ve got little enough spare time as it is, without adding another time sink to my life.
He has a right to stand on his own deck. What constitutes “staring down” at her family? Is it creepy for him to ever look in that direction at all? Her intimation that he is focusing on them with any kind of intensity, or staring at her kids or anything (notice how she always works the kids in there, whether she has the slightest basis for doing so or not) is unsupported. I don’t see a clear allegation that he’s even so much as glanced in their direction. It’s all insinuation on Palin’s part. She probably stands on her own deck. You admit that would be pretty creepy if she was staring down at him and his family, wouldn’t you? Is there any reason to accuse either party of doing that, though? If Palin has a direct allegation to make, lt her make it. Otherwise she’s out of bounds with her insinuations.
Maybe she should stop trying to peep up at her neighbors’ decks and mind her own business.

I think it’s a bit over-the-top for a journalist to move into the house right next door to his subject, presumably in an attempt to spy on that subject. If, of course, that’s what he’s done. Dude, get a life.

I think the idea of a Presidential hopeful constantly portraying herself as a victim is equally pathetic, if not more so. I don’t elect political officials because I feel *sorry *for them. I want a leader, not a fainting lily.
Word on that.
So how about posting a link to the site that provided the link to you?
I agree that her muddled language makes any kind of conclusion impossible.
Sure, it would be creepy if she were staring down at his family.
This. While I have no love for SP, I CAN understand the creepy factor. However, there is no concrete evidence that she should have valid concerns unless something is published about her or her brood that could not possibly be known without direct day-to-day observation.
All the fertilizer she spreads is great for Farmville.
It would be creepy. It would also be the sort of thing that neighbors all over the world have to put up with. I have a neighbor that doesn’t like my politics (expressed through my lawn signs) and is notably creepy about it.
The think I STILL don’t get about Sarah Palin is that if she didn’t WANT to put her family through this, she should have said no and remained an obscure governor of a small state. Anyone who has paid attention to the way the media operates could have taken one look at Palin’s situation - the ethics investigation, the pregnant unwed teenage daughter, the conservative Christian background and said “oh, this is going to be a media circus.” Why Palin thought she’d be treated any differently than anyone else makes my head spin. Either she is terribly naive, or she repeatedly lets her family be victimized for “points.”
You mean the one in the OP at the top of this page?
Yeah, she’s acknowledge that the entire country of Russia overlooks her house. That didn’t creep her out?
I think we have two opposing slimeballs here. SP’s tactics and story are the stuff of trailer trash legends but whatzisname the writer is just another slimeball paparazzi.
Had the “victim” been a more lovable public interest figure like an actress or musician then I think it would be quite apparent that writer-boy is a turd. Just because his subject is a media laughing stock doesn’t mean that his ethics are clean.
It’s possible that McCain’s people told her the media attention wouldn’t be a problem, either because they were too inept to foresee otherwise or because they themselves hoped to benefit from the Wounded Gazelle Gambit.
Do either of you have any evidence to show that McGinniss is actually writing a book about her?
Or are you just jumping to conclusions without actually knowing what in hell’s going on?
Is there any information on this that doesn’t come from her blog?
Seriously? Alaska is fucking huge. HUGE. He goes all the way from MA to Alaska, big-ol-giant-Alaska, and just so happens to move in RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Sarah Palin’s family? C’mon.
Like I said int he MPSIMS thread I posted about this: no doubt this is somewhat Palin’s fault- my friends who live in Alaska don’t have Palin money, but they all own acres and acres. So, there’s no reason she can’t get a more secure “compound” for her family. That said, of allllllllllllllllllllll the properties in allllllllllllllllllll of Alaska, this guy happens to rent the one right nextdoor to his subject? C’mon.
Are we sure it isn’t a joke, run by someone other than Palin?
