Did anyone else see this episode. Carol Burnett was really good playing a black widow with a rich husband and a live-in boy toy.
Interesting, at times. But there were stretches in the 2nd half of too much discussion without the story really moving forward. They also completely forgot the third murder victim after the opening. It was a “double homicide” from then on.
While Mrs. FtG knows who Burnett and Robert Klein are (of course), she had no clue about Matthew Lillard. “Hackers”? That Utah punks movie? Oh well.
Going by the age of the actors: Lillard born in 1970. Burnett in 1933. So she adopted him in 1976, her age 43. Was she still a Rockette at that point? Started the affair around 1988, her age 56. Oh well. In short, I didn’t buy any of that.
Also, whose head made the dent in the wall? Marv (Merv???) didn’t seem tall enough.
There are reports that someone is going to get killed off at the end of the season. My guess:
Alexandra, the newly returned ADA. Would be a shame too. Of course, if they kill off Munch, that would start the conspiracy theorists going.
I watched that episode and could not understand the connection between the initial death (of the slacker friend overstaying his welcome at the other guy’s apartment) and the rest of the story involving Carol Burnett and her “nephew”. I thought Matthew Lillard did a decent job with his role. And by the way, this was one time when the famous guest star was not the one who did the crime (assuming you consider Carol Burnett a bigger star than Matthew Lillard).
I didn’t even recognize Mathew Lillard. I guess he did a good job.
The slacker was killed by a stray bullet coming thru the wall from the main killings next door.
As to Lillard’s appearance, it comes down to cutting the ponytail.
The tabloids claim that Mariska Hargitay is having to leave the show for health reasons. Maybe it’s Benson?
I didn’t see it but may watch it online. Please tell me she patterns the black widow after Mrs. Wiggins and Tim Conway plays the dead husband… even if it’s a lie.
Oh you definitely should watch if your a fan of Ms. Burnett. She is delightful in it. And I’d say she’s more like Miss Hannigan in this than Mrs. Huwwigins.
**Sampiro, ** there’s a scene that has a real echo of Ms Burnett’s send-up of Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard, only this time she plays it creepy, not sad-funny.
My guess? Cragan. Every other character has a pretty substantial fan base but him.
You wanna see something incredible? I watched the first parts of the episode online and I thought the actor playing Tisa’s orthodox Jewish lover looked familiar so I looked him up. His name is Eliezer Meyer, he’s a real life Hasidic rabbi, and he just started appearing in TV & film about 5 years and look at the number of in-production/post-production creditshe currently has! Looks like another Abe Vigoda late-life success story in the making. (I knew him from Duplicity which I just saw this week.)
That reminds me. You’d think that Benson would know enough not to try touching the Orthodox Jewish guy (because she’s a woman and it’s forbidden in his religion).
Was the boy toy slow or screwed up because of the upbringing?he certainly wasn’t all there.
