Haven’t posted in a while (comp at home died) but I know some people were wondering whether I found out if I was gonna get laid off or not. The frustrating answer is…I still don’t know :mad:
At least the good news is that I’m still here! People feared layoffs would be in July but the date has come and gone. The new rumors now are talking October (which would be the beginning of the next quarter). That gives me another 3 months to prepare, which I am doing dilligently. I’m proud to say I’ll probably be more prepared than most of my colleagues- Less debt, live alone, big family, building savings, etc.
The nerve wracking thing for me is that if they do lay off people, it will be about ten percent of us drivers. Why does that make me nervous? Because I am RIGHT NEAR the ‘cutoff’- I might barely hang on to my job. If not, at least I’ll have a year’s unemployment, ten grand in savings and no debt to worry about. Still, I like my job, and really hope I am able to keep it.
