It’s not been a fun time in my industry. Pay cuts, lay offs, required time off.

It’s not been a fun week at my employer. Yet another round of lay offs. All kinds of emails and phone calls flying, as we try to figure out who is still here.

And then I hear 2 rumors. First - One of the main projects I work on, may be taken away from my group and given to another. Second - My boss, who lives/works in another state, is out of the office for a couple of days, and may be coming into this office tomorrow. There are 3 of us that work for him, in this office.

Will there be 2 tomorrow?

At least it’s supposed to be nice for the next 5 days or so. 40-50° and sunny. Maybe I’ll go play in the mud.

The good news is: I didn’t get the pink slip. (Or is that bad news? It’s supposed to be near 50 all of next week).

The bad news is 4 of the 19 people in my group got laid off. I’m hearing similar percentages from other areas. Damn, it’s scary in here.

Glad your job survived.
My financial advisor reckons it will take 12-24 months before confidence is restored and things get back to the levels before the crash.
