He was talking re: his top 12 which he calls “the Pantheon”. Baylor was 15th, Mikan a “lowly” 38th.
Lakers renounce Randell (wtf?) And sign Rondo to a one year deal.
All about playing with high basketball IQ players.
So, will the Association decide that this upcoming year’ll be the one to break out the 1-16 playoff seeding idea?
At least LeBron isn’t getting Cousins too—per Yahoo, he just went to the Warriors. x.com
LOL NBA.
Its a one year deal and there is no guarantee he will be anything close to his former greatness. Its hard to come back from a torn Achilles. If he does he will get the big bucks next season.
I agree completely. The chance that he gets to anywhere near the level that he was playing on New Orleans before the injury is remote. Even if everything goes perfectly, and there are no guarantees with Achilles tears (I’ve torn both of mine), it likely won’t be next year. Has anybody read anything about his recovery? I suspect that he probably won’t get much playing time on a team that loaded, and is possibly just trying to get that easy ring.
Oh please. The guy was a 25/13 guy last year before the injury and a 24/12 guy the year before that. After his third year with SAC, he wasn’t worse than 23/8. DeMarcus Cousins Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft Status and more | Basketball-Reference.com
He’s been in the last 4 All-Star Games, and has flirted with 1st team All-NBA. It is absolutely ridiculous that the Warriors can add a guy like that for the MLE, and it basically shows what a fraud the salary cap system has been for bringing about competitive balance. Might as well get rid of it, and allow teams to pay these guys what they’re worth.
If you are the owners of pretty much every team in the West not named Houston, OKC or maybe LA now with LeBron, why on Earth should you try to spend a single cent more than obligated? Really, those three teams too, in a rational world, should be doing everything possible to at least get under the luxury tax. I am hoping, as a Houston resident, that Fertitta gives the green light to Morey to try and get dollar value for 75 cent prices, as teams dump salaries. Maybe that’ll happen.
In the East? Pretty much the same, unless ownership really values getting to the Finals. I wouldn’t be surprised to see non-Warriors games’ tv ratings, merch sales, and advance ticket sales, absolutely crater. Why give a shit at this point? And why do we think this’ll stop with Boogie? Why won’t we end up seeing every ring-chasing All-Star hitting FA deciding to go take a poverty year and go play for the Globetrotters?
As to his injury, the Warriors don’t need him to come back until he is absolutely 100% as healed as he is ever going to get. They can have him wait until the playoffs start, if needed. And when he does come back, he makes them that much more impossible to defend. They have 5 All-Stars now. We haven’t seen that since the 78-ish Celtics, per ESPN.
Ugh.
The Death Lineup is already 5 All-Stars. We’re seeing the creation of a new beast - the All-Star Bench.

Lakers are already contenders for the Western Conference crown. Problem is, Golden State is in the Western Conference. The Warriors are still a thing.
