If a band are are widely considered to be one of the most successful, innovative, and influential bands in the history of rock music ; plus they’ve sold over 200 million albums - then they are not overrated.
What kaylasdad99 meant was “Although Led Zeppelin are hugely popular and highly-rated, I personally don’t like them much.”
No, what he meant was “That other thread was dumb, so now I’m trying to be funny to point that out.”
I bet kaylasdad likes Led Zeppelin. If not now, he did back in the day (bet he had stoner friends who called them “Zep”).

Led Zepplin are almost as overrated as Pink Floyd, The Who and The Beatles.
Blasphemy. Don’t include The Floyd in that overrated group of bands.
I was about to post that I too have always found them to be overrated, and now I’ll add that I saw them in September 1970, San Diego Sports Arena, promoting their second album. The experience reinforced my opinion.
Might I ask which thread spawned this travesty*?

Led Zeppelin is the best band ever and everyone who has ever heard them agrees. Even people who haven’t heard them agree.
Now Led Zeppelin is overrated. Before the above statement was made, we couldn’t be so sure.
I’m reminded of an evening dinner when my conservative step-father announced that playing Led Zeppelin music backwards gave Satanic chants … yes, I had the nerve to point out that playing Led Zeppelin music forwards gave Satanic chants … indeed we did ruin step-father’s turntable the follow week spinning it backwards … then step-father had us perform The Great Breaking of Led Zeppelin Records Behind the Shop Whilst Step-Father Read Psalms Aloud … [sigh] …
Led Zeppelin was the first to do what they did … many came after and perhaps did it better … but Led Zep was the first …

All of those groups are overrated except for the Beatles. Floyd is boring, Zeppelin is grating, and the Who are actually good but it’s not like they are Queen or anything.
Even if they did steal “Killing Floor” and “Goin’ To Mexico” to make the lemon Song and then failed to give due credit to the real composers.
Is that the one where Page was so fried he couldn’t even play his own damn songs?
They may or may not be overrated, but I still like their music. They didn’t revolutionize the use of the guitar or anything but they had a nice bluesy rock thing goin on. I think a lot of the musicians of the 1960s and 70s influenced and borrowed from each other.
