Leftists are trying to kill the Right

To be fair, if you pursue that “prophylaxis” with enough determination, it will definitely prevent your dying of COVID.

“we are secretly switching their fresh-brewed horse dewormer with legit covid vaccine. Can these people tell the difference?”

I was going to suggest you’re an old Folger fogey, but that commercial isn’t quite as old as I thought. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bill never asks for a second cup of horse dewormer at home…

I thought they could actually spread the rumor that the vaccine was actually a super concentrated dose of horse dewormer, as the government didn’t want to admit that the MAGAs were right about that.

edit: I see I’m not the first person to have this thought

Gee, if we’d known it was that easy, we would’ve just told them to vote.

Yep, no doubt there’s blood on the hands of all those liberals who promoted vaccination (not even targeting the message at Republicans in particular, just asking everyone to please get vaccinated).

Meanwhile, since we’re in upside-down land, Tucker Carlson completely lying and saying that the vaccine has killed “thousands” while refusing to disclose whether he has been vaccinated is a hero, I guess? Can’t blame him if his viewers are dying en masse.

And Biden’s vaccine mandates and Republicans’ attempts to block either vaccine or mask mandates are 4D chess moves to erm…look, it’s all Democrats’ fault, OK? They eat babies.

This was similar my take as well. Unlike the rest of his fellow reactionaries, Nolte has managed to absorb the information that vaccines actually work to save lives and that Republicans are literally killing themselves to own the libs. Now there are two possibilities.

Possibility one (Nolte is smart): Nolte realizes that simply telling conservatives to get the damn shots won’t work since he will be called a cuck and be ignored. So he concocts the double reverse psychology argument where the Democrats really don’t want you to get the vaccine and tell you to get it knowing that you will be contrary, so to really be contrary and own the libs you need to do what they say.

Possibility two (Nolte is an idiot): Following the inverse-scientific mehtod of altering data to fit hypothesis, he incorporates the new information on vaccines into his understanding of Democratic motivations the same way that a young earther incorporates fossil record into his understanding of the age of the earth. So that rather than vaccine efficacy refuting the notion that Democrats are still evil and still trying to force Republicans to do things that are bad for them it actually supports that notion.

I leave it up to the reader to decide which scenario is more likely. But I think that most of the right wing media that are promoting this have reached the same conclusion as Nolte and see this as the best way forward to getting the people on the right to stop killing themselves. I also think that we as truth loving benevolent Democrats should encourage its propagation. Sure it, its patent misinformation that paints us as diabolical monsters gloating over the deaths of our fellow man, but that’s what they think of us anyway and nothing we do or say is going to change that. We should encourage it because it seems like the only argument that might reach some of these idiots and convince them to take the jab.

Bingo.

Democrats have all Republicans on a double cross, triple secret probation. It’s obvious.

I think they’re extinct. Like the Tolerant Left (speaking from left-of-center…)

We tried that…The results were not…great.

I suppose they could embrace my own personal conspiracy theory which is that Trump figured out that he was going to lose his re-election bid and retaliated by purposely both botching the covid response and stirring up the people he saw as failing him by not securing his re-election so they’d die for their failure…

Even the “Tolerant Left” has its limits.

Sure, whatever dude.

How about those “personal responsibility” types take some responsibility for their own behavior? This question is so fucking dumb that I can’t even start to dignify it with an answer. Reverse psychology? Are they children?

Which is why I stopped being tolerant around the turn of the century (how neat is it to be able to use that phrase?). Way too much work.

Much more fun to crush the nitwit rightwingers, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their pundits.

@RitterSport I think the last time I saw a moderate conservative was on Wild Kingdom. Marlin Perkins had to tag him to discover his migration patterns. Poor thing…looked rode hard and put away wet. You just knew he was the last of his kind. Then it went to a Summers Eve commercial.

At least he did! Our (USA) “conservative” politicians would never publicly admit the truth like that. They’d just order more morgue trucks and continue stoking the fire.

Yeah, same here. I used to be all for tolerance, but conservatives presented me with several strong arguments for why tolerance was not a virtue, and they managed to swing my opinion on the topic around. Now I’m pretty firmly anti-tolerance, and conservatives won’t stop whining about “cancel culture.” "Dudes, you won! This is the outcome you spent decades fighting for! Why so salty?

There’s just no pleasing some people, I guess.

The Trump conservative movement is more opposed to personal responsibility than any other movement I’ve ever seen.
