Legal folks: Can Attorneys really do this?

I’m not sure that’s correct in any event.

If the lawyer wins judgments against the TFB, then those judgments stand until he pays them off. The lawyer might not be able to access the TF directly, but once money goes out of the TF and into the pocket of the TFB, the lawyer can claim it.

If it stays in the TF forever, then the lawyer might not be able to access it but neither does the TFB.

Not to threadjack, but trust me, they were both (to put it nicely) “quirky” and I have no doubt that there was fault on both sides.

To give you an example of how awkward / clueless he could be, during an extremely formal interview with an international firm, they asked the standard “Where do you see yourself in five years?” question.

He responded, “Well, I really want to be a fireman!”

He told us the interview concluded shortly after that response.

See, I totally would have hired that guy. You see nutjob. I see relaxed enough in a high pressure interview to crack a joke.

Sweet juicy justice! Please do keep us posted

Oh and yes, my mom’s 2nd husband was a cop-hanger-onner. This is totally a thing, at least in small towns where the line between “us” and “them” is less-defined than in a larger urban area.

He did it in the voice of a small child. He was interviewing for a position where he would have close contact with very important people in an extremely professional environment. It just wasn’t the right time or environment to do something like that.

Sometimes, you’ve gotta know your audience. And, quite honestly, that was his problem - he couldn’t pick up on social cues or know how to read a crowd. The guy had a really sharp mind when it came to the law (and I think students at my former law school still use one of the outlines he’d created), but his social skills were extremely lacking.

Last I heard, he was working for a local firm, pretty much in a “back room” somewhere, where he wouldn’t have much interaction with clients or other associates.

Well yeah. There is no law that states you actually have to have the means to carry out your threats.

Here’s to hoping both assholes get exactly what they deserve.
