Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Legends of the Hidden Temple was a great show. IMO, it was the best Nick game show ever. But, I noticed it had a rather low win percentage. Of 120 episodes, only 32 had the kids successfully get the artifact out of the temple, for a paltry 26.7% win rate.

Was the Temple really that hard, or were the kids on the show just bad?

From what I heard, the reason why the kids were so terrible was that it was made up of the random people who were touring Universal Studios Florida that day and asked if they wanted to participate in a live show, thus they were all kids who most likely had never seen the show in the first place.

I’m pretty sure it was that hard. I haven’t seen the show in ages, but I’ve watched the Game Show Reviewer’s video on it recently, and it definitely looks like a lot to do in a short time. They often blocked doors, making you waste time going in a very circuitous route.

It also seems that they could easily place the temple guards in a way to keep you from winning, if they thought too many people were winning. Only if you won all three temple games would that not be possible.

this

most of nicks self produced live shows with contestants and audiences were mostly people wandering around universal Florida

But the worst offender was the original "figure it out the goal was if you had a unique talent or world record ect the panel had to guess what it was in 3 rounds but they jobbed 90 percent of the contestants in the 3rd round and they didn’t even have real prizes except at the bonus round

What you won was pieces of the sets of the other game shows after they were dismantled

They did have one controversy with the host summer sanders since she was an Olympic swimmer and it gets unbearably hot in Orlando she started wearing swimsuits on the show except they were getting uncomfortably small and thin and the male teens “celebrity panel” of nickelodeon “stars” started to make on air jokes

so they made her wear provided one piece suits and edited her appearances on the show but she had mixed emotions looking back on the show saying no one knew what they were doing and she was just there to baby sit the panel ………

I worked on all 3 seasons of this show and IMO the game was just hard.

It is, to the best of my knowledge, not true that the contestants were picked from people at USF; my recollection is that most were people from the Orlando area (even back then there were several million people in a 2-hour radius from the studio).
