I just want a copy of he random plot generating software that came up with “Chased through a spaceship by the headless body of Marie Antoinette wielding a flamethrower”.
I like how the recapitated (that’s a word, right?) Marie Antoinette is still hanging around the Waverider, able to comment on the foibles of the Legends.
The Fate backstory fits pretty well with Charlie’s past in the show - for one thing, being able to change people’s fates just feels right for a shapeshifter. Also, Charlie was the key to the different fates of the Legends in “Legends of To-Meow-Meow.”
FAMILY AFFAIR - Ray plans a date night for him and Nora, but all goes awry when an Encore shows up making the team think on their feet and create a lie to keep the Encore at bay. While trying to fool the Encore, Ava learns what Sara was really doing while she was away and confronts her. Charlie and Constantine make a deal to work together, which will benefit both of them. Meanwhile, Rory is upset when he gets negative comments about his book, so Zari helps track down who the critic is, and Rory gets more than he bargained for.

This week’s genre was not, in fact, a children’s television show as the promo would have you believe. The parody of Mr Roger’s Neighborhood was wonderful (Gary the Unspeakable Train Abomination! Puppet Sara and Ava!) and of course Ray Palmer was perfect as Fred Rogers. However the episode was, at heart, a farce. One could argue that the whole show itself has become a farce (and I mean that in a good way) but this episode especially was a very well-done farce.
I knew Brandon Routh and and Courtney Ford were leaving, but I didn’t think it would be so soon. Any other show would have played up the wedding of Ray and Nora, and promoted it all to hell, but on this one it was virtually an afterthought. But it worked in the context of the episode.
Damien Darhk, the worst villain in the worst season of Arrow, somehow found redemption on Legends and became one of their best villains. He will be missed.
So much a farce that I realized partway through that I was watching an episode of Frasier…
Yes! I was coming up blank on another show to compare it to, but you hit the nail on the head. It was indeed Frasier.
Specifically, it was quite like the episode in which Daphne’s old boyfriend turned up, leading to a cascade of lies that escalated every time someone new arrived at the apartment (except Eddie - he was no problem).

SAYING GOODBYE - The Legends continue their hunt for pieces of the Loom of Fate and find themselves face to face with William Shakespeare. Ray, Nate, Rory, Constantine, Charlie and Behrad stay a little longer on the mission making things worse after lying to Sara. Meanwhile, Ray and Nora make another big life decision that leaves the team surprised and best buds, Nate and Ray, on the outs.

All the Arrowverse shows have shut down production due to Covid-19 concerns. The good news is that, with its shorter season, Legends completed shooting back in January. However post-production work like effects shots are still being worked on; I don’t know if that will be affected. What I do know is that we won’t be getting new episodes again for the next two weeks.
…well I didn’t expect to tear up at **that **scene: but I did. One of the all time great bromances, quite possibly the greatest.
And then there were two.
I’m particularly displeased about Ray’s exit. It seems so unnecessary, compared to all the other crew members that are gone. Snart, Rip, and Stein died heroic deaths. Kendra was superfluous after they took out Vandal Savage. Jax similarly had no purpose after Stein died. Amaya had to go back to Africa so as not to disturb the timeline. Ray on the other hand was still a productive, happy member of the team, especially now that he has Nora. And we barely got to know non-demon spawn Nora. It seems part of the rationale for this episode was the writers trying to justify to the audience that Ray’s story had come to an end. I don’t buy it.
No new episode this week, but the CW has released a couple more segments of Mr Parker’s Cul-de-Sac to tide us over.

MEMORIES - Sara, Constantine and Charlie find themselves in British Columbia searching for another piece of the Loom, but they run into a problem they couldn’t have foreseen. Zari has been having trouble feeling like herself, so she goes on meditative journey at the suggestion of Behrad. Meanwhile, Ava volunteers to try and help Rory with a personal problem.
Zari, Not Zari promo: - YouTube
So, this episode, the genre send-up was Supernatural. I’ve got to admit, I was a little disappointed they missed several (what seemed to me to be) obvious bits.
One thing has been bugging me about this season. What genre/movie/tv show was referenced in the Marie Antoinette episode? The closed I can think of was maybe stoner comedy, when Nate and Ray briefly acted kind of stoned at the part? Or is maybe “24-Hour Party People” a genre?
This is supposed to be the light-hearted comedic show?
I started this season fully expecting Behrad to be a throwaway character, to be dispensed with once we got Zari back. But he came in fully-formed and well integrated into the team, as if he was always meant to be there. And his exit was truly epic - not just blown up by a bomb (Snart) or killed by faceless Nazis (Stein), but Atropos herself cut his Thread of Fate. Zari’s devastation feels all the more real.
Constantine’s tie still bugs me. You can’t have a tie that loosened and still be that short.
Yeah.
But I came here to celebrate Mick’s daughter dressed as Captain Cold for Halloween.
I liked Behrad a lot more than Zari.
Then again, its Legends, so he’s only mostly-dead.
WE’VE GOT COMPANY - With Sara recuperating from her latest battle, Charlie starts to notice something might not be right with her. Still searching for the Loom, Constantine and Zari find themselves trapped in a 1910 boarding house with a slew of out-of-time Encores. Meanwhile, Ava, Gary and Rory take a trip while Nate and Charlie hold down the Waverider.
