This is not punishment, rather a teaching of what your deeds and actions had on others and how they felt.

So . . . God will never harm you in any way. Except when he feels it’s necessary to teach you a lesson, and then it’s not really harm.
No, really, Sir . . . we had to destroy the 'ville in order to save it.

One of my favorites was a fellow I worked with for 8 years. He said when he was 16 he was hanging out by a creek huffing paint thinner. He got up to go piss in the creek. As he pissed the sky split open and half of the world fell off into darkness. He felt drawn to each side and heard a voice say “Choose now”. He lept toward the lighter side, tumbled over some bushes and landed near his friends whose response was “Huh?” He was changed by the experience in that he found a belief in a creator but his life did not change much, same habits etc. His belief in a creator came with his inner understand that unconditional spiritual love was truly unconditional so he just never really worried about things like religion or church or stuff. Course this could have all been the paint thinner as well.

No offense, but do you really doubt it WAS the paint thinner? Perhaps your friend realized this. Dude, do you know what that does to your brain?
lekatt, link to one of your posts where you first told of this so-called NDE. Or your website where you describe it.
(Hell, but by those standards, I’ve had way more NDEs in my life-do you know how many times my friends and I used to play chicken out on the main drag when we were kids?)
No doctor or medical equipment diagnosing or recording a heart attack. No proof a heart attack happened. No proof he was ever near death.
Czarcasm I don’t know how you do it without losing your temper. Congratulations and thank you.

Thank you for the link, Doc.
I attribute my patience to years of study with Tibetan monks, coupled with a closet full of Dead Guy Ale.
Lekatt I don’t think I’ve ever heard you doubt anybody’s claim of NDE or OBE. The author of Hercolubus claims to have learned everything in his book* through out of body experience. He speaks at length of his astral travels. Would you peruse his site and tell us whether you believe his claims or not? If not, why not?
I own a hardcover copy of the book. The website I linked to is missing many things but gives a good feeling for the book. I have a special section in my bookcase for the writings of Malkavians. If you don’t know what a Malkavian is, try Googling it or as Malkavia.
That should be “AskMalkavia”. I was going to post an excerpt from Hercolubus, but I can’t find my copy at the moment. I suspect it’s in the dining room.

Mmmm. Dead Guy.
Just had a pint this afternoon at the Rogue Public House in PDX. Much of the nummy right-from-of-the-brewery goodness.
Hell, give me another six or eight and I might well have an OBE of my own.

Anyways, ust because I’m interested in discussions that are on the level, why don’t you provide, in your own words, your story of your “NDE”, lekatt? Others have provided a link to your own words that seems to contradict your denials that it was a dream followed by a self-diagnosed medical verdict.
He makes unsubstantiated claims and refuses to answer basic questions. In what way is this fight “good”?
I believe that Lekatt is very sincere in his beliefs,I also believe that self hypnosis is a strong point in many people’s experiences. He doesn’t need the proof so I think he feels his experiences are real and cannot accept that others do not see it as he does.
He chastises the rest of us for having closed minds, and yet he refuses himself to consider alternatives to what he experienced. He knows it all, of course, and yet we do not. If we do not accept his claim, we are wrong.

I have never said you were wrong for your beliefs, I have said posters were wrong for their attitudes of hate about opposing views, and wrong about their comprehension of opposing views. You may believe anything you wish. I believe what I believe because I have experienced it first hand.

Thanks for your kind post. I know my experiences were real because I have been able to duplicate them for myself many times. You may believe what you will, just as I will believe what I experienced.

Jesus said: “You must lose your life in order to save it.”
We live in a duality that is full of pain and suffering. It is also full of love and joy. You have the choice of which you will live in. But as long as you blame others (God) for your misfortunes your right to choose is given away. We are our own worst enemies and our own best friends. We create our own reality. The choice is ours as long as we accept responsibility for our thoughts, actions, beliefs, and emotions. If you say others cause us to think certain thoughts, do certain actions, hold certain beliefs, and provoke certain emotions then we have no control to do anything. Spiritual people call it “taking your power back” when they assume the reins of their life. Anyone can do it, takes no special skills.
