lekatt, is there any reason that CUs should not be used for commercial purposes? E.g. The Transformers, season 3, episode 16:

This is the forum for witnessing, and this is the forum for challenging/debating people who are witnessing. As long as the tone is acceptable to the standards in GD (e.g. no personal insults, etc.), you should not close the thread again.

Please remember that the “silliness” of lekatt’s beliefs is no more and no less silly than your own Christian beliefs.

This is the forum for debate, not for people talking past each other, so your first point is irrelevant to this thread to this point.

Your second point is also irrelevant to this thread. I have never shut down any thread because I disagreed with the premise of one side or the other of any discussion. If this thread is locked, again, it will be because posters on one or both sides have chosen to ignore each other while edging closer and closer to badgering and insults. If you believe that I should leave open a thread simply so that I can have the “fun” of repeatedly having to read increasingly hostile posts when there is no actual discussion involved, you are simply wrong.

Perhaps I’m wrong on this but I’m getting the impression that lekatt just plain doesn’t want to believe in death of the brain nor even of decay of the brain. Near death, on the other hand, is a different story. So, it really doesn’t seem like a fruitful endeavor to discuss someone whose brain is dead or gone (such as Ms. Schiavo) with him.

On edit: lekatt, could you perhaps link to something besides your own blog?

I can’t say about the condition of Ms. Schiavo"s brain. I don’t believe anyone can know for sure. I quote from my site because that is where I have stored the material I present to the public. Not all of the material has been written by me, I would guess less than half are actually my writings.

lekatt, why is any one collection of CUs better than any other collection of CUs?

Is one person better than another person?

Is a person better than a rock composed of the same number of CUs?

I would guess the larger the number of CUs the more intelligent the consciousness, the more you learn and understand the more CUs. This is just an opinion. Whether some CUs are more desirable than others are unknown.

I would guess the larger the number of CUs the more intelligent the consciousness, the more you learn and understand the more CUs. This is just an opinion. Whether some CUs are more desirable than others are unknown.

Is the sun more intelligent than the moon? (Bearing in mind that in some belief sytems the sun god is more powerful than the moon god.)

Does the sun have a greater level of consciousness than the moon?

Is there a difference between leval of intelligence and level of consciousness?

That’s pretty bad advice. I frequently get bad guidance from sources inside myself, so i find the only way to improve my judgement and make better choices is to find sources outside of myself. In my experience, I have found that the scientific method is the best way to determine which sources are reliable. So far, no sources for religion and spirituality have cleared that bar.

I personally have found that to be very good advice, so we disagree on this. As for the scientific method it lacks the ability to test personal experiences, but that doesn’t make personal experiences any less true or real.

By its peace and calm. Or by feelings, there is an overriding law that governs all spiritual activity, it is the law of love. If the advice fits it is ok, if not then don’t act on it. It is really very easy with a little practice.

I do not trust my feelings. In my experience, they have been the source of most of my problems in my life. Things that seem like a good idea at the time invariably turn out to be What The Hell Was I Thinking? moments. I would still be an alcoholic if I used your yardstick to guide my judgement; I love beer, so it must be good, right?
