I oppose hate crimes being punished worse than similar offenses. I’ve begun anotherthread to avoid hijacking this one.
This generalization is bugging me. Yes, there are assholes in Canada; I worked with a guy who flat out said that fags should be killed (yeah, I called him on it). Some guy on a Greyhound bus decapitated another passenger just because. It doesn’t mean we have a problem with lesbian bashing, fag killing, or decapitation here. Canada is a country filled with individuals (and some of them express their individuality by being horrible), just like any other country.
