Old, I know, but just in case some of you have forgotten about them, or one of you has never seen them before (slim chance), let’s remember some of the greats. Feel free to share your favorites!
Summary: they pick a scheduled game of Little League, apparently quite a while in advance, and turn it into a Major League game. There are crazy fans. There are vendors in the stands. They hand out slick programs with the kids’ names and stats. They set up a JumboTron screen in the outfield and have professional announcer Jim Gray from NBC call the game. And the topper: the Goodyear Blimp flew overhead, with lighted messages for both teams.
The Moebius: A scene gets played over and over at a Starbucks Old Timey 1997 Photo Booth: Get your picture taken in 1997, complete with Austin Powers standup, Titanic poster, an N64 controller, wearing a “Central Perk” t-shirt Rob!: “Rob” gets lost at a baseball game, and gets a whole section yelling at him
I’ve said many times that there’s nothing New York has that can’t be found in every half-decent city in the country. Improv Everywhere is the exception.
Does anyone know if the full hour of “Moebius” is available anywhere?
The plan was probably for everyone to get on, say, the third car of the train. Train pulls up, Vader counts the cars, and stands in front of the third one. Probably helped that he could likely see the guys dressed as Stormtroopers through the train’s windows.
According to the entry (or a different one, I forget), they rehearsed beforehand without the costumes so that they knew exactly where to position themselves.
I ran across this group somewhere a few years ago, probably from a link on this very board. The baseball game is my favorite, but everything I’ve seen has been pretty good. Food Court Musical and the stunt at Best Buy also stand out in my memory.
