Let The Quest for the Grail Begin!

DUCKS! DUCKS! DUCKS!

QUACK QUACK QUACK

Hooyah, the ducks sent those d*** squid throwing fans home to the golf course with brooms.

It’s 2-2 for the Leafs and flyers.

Wings are out, 4-0!!

Thank Lord Stanley, the Red Wings are eliminated! Now as long as the Devils lose to someone (probably not the Bruins, though), the hockey playoffs will be safe to watch.

Hey, I’m on a roll, Tiger wasn’t a factor at the Masters, and the Dead Things are out of the playoffs. w00t!

fuck

Skydive… I logged in and I saw your name as the last poster in the Pit… I knew you’d be here saying something like “fuck” after tonight’s game.

I’ve been studying up on the Ducks and through the last half of the season the only team with better production was the Wings. Despite the sweep, it was a hard fought series and the Wings can hold their heads up high. The way Giguere played in the series, the Wings were probably one of the few teams that would have had any chance of scoring on him at all. He has been simply fucking awesome.

Adam… We’re gonna miss Dvorak tomorrow night and Dallas will certainly breathe a little easier without him in the lineup. They had better not breathe too easily because there’s the rest of the team to worry about and a number of other players have really stepped it up a few notches.

Re: your question… I hate cheap shots, dirty play, and poor sportsmanship no matter who’s playing. I respect many of the individual players in the Dallas lineup as you cannot help but appreciate the skills they possess… Hatcher just isn’t one of them. You might be surprised to hear that Mike Comrie is a player I really don’t like all that much, aside from his not playing well he somehow thinks he’s some kind of badass and takes stupid penalties. Maybe he’s just pissed off from being the opposition’s #1 target night after night… he had better get used to it.

Some of the guys here were calling for Hatcher’s head after he nailed Staios in game one, they wanted Laraque to give him a tune up. I disagreed as Hatcher was penalized accordingly and having George tossed for fighting would keep him from what he really does best… setting up plays and driving the Dallas defence crazy as he is almost impossible to check.

Anyways… I’ll smoke that pipe with ya.

Have you thought about the fact that whoever wins the series between Edmonton and Dallas gets the honour of facing the team that just dusted the reigning champs? My new found appreciation of the Ducks and Jean Sebastian Giguere may be short lived.

Unless Dallas ends up playing them…

Correction: Only Dallas can face the Ducks of those two. If Edmonton wins they would likely face Colorado.

Way to go Ducks! Unfortunatly, this sweep of the Wings, while good for everybody else, will be tough on the Ducks. I’m guessing that a long layoff before the second round is just what they don’t want. The Ducks were rolling with the big mo, and getting out of the playing every other day routine may hurt them.

My personal feeling is that a team wants a series to go 5 or 6 games, so there isn’t too much time off or not enough.

Now that the Wings are gone, I can get back to concentrating on the important task of breaking the hearts of Oilers fans.

St. Louis Blues…just can’t lose…

EAT IT VANCOUVER.

:smack:

Ok, now it’s the day after. I think Mitch Albom really says it best here. God, it’s so hard to believe that our season is over. I knew it would be a tough one. I’ve been up to the Pond for 4 regular season Mighty Ducks games. I watched them dismantle the Stars, the Wings and the Kings. I’m just so disappointed right now. They truly did deserve to win though. I think the triple OT loss in game 1 was something that we never recovered from, and they rolled with that energy like champs.

Crap, crap, crap, being the first team out of the running. Losing to Disney. Being swept in the first round. All of these things just suck. Next season we might have to dump several players just to make up for the lack of playoff revenue. So many questions without answers right now. It’s a bitter pill.

I still love hockey though, you gotta take the bad times with the good times. Now I can devote my full attention to cheering on St. Louis and whoever is playing the Avalanche!

Good luck to the rest of your teams, and I pity the team that gets to play the Ducks next round (assuming they can keep up this level of play) - it’s gonna be a doozy.

Shit… damn… fuck…

We’ll try again on Saturday.

Sorry Feynn, but your boys didn’t look sharp at all tonight. The Stars just kept them bottled up all night, there was nothing for the Oilers in the neutral zone. The Oilers physical game was almost nonexistant, perhaps due to the Stars PP being so productive. 17 shots just isn’t going cut it, especially when most of them are coming after you are already down by 3 or 4.

Adam… they were sucking some serious ass all right.

Their only redemption was how they played in the last half of the third period… that’s when they finally showed up to play.

I hope MacT makes them watch those last minutes over and over and over before Saturday and explain this is how you have to play to win playoff games.

Congratulations to the Ducks. I suppose I’ll be cheering for St. Louis or Edmonton now. (I still like Chris Osgood).

BTW, did LaRocque get in trouble for slashing Turko last night? I can’t stand the Stars, but that was an unbelievably blatant cheap shot.

Laraque should have gotten a penalty but I don’t think it was much of a cheap shot as an attempt to try and intercept the shoot out that Turco was attempting.

Despite his image as the Oiler’s enforcer Laraque is a pretty decent guy and although he plays hard, he doesn’t generally take cheap shots at anyone.

It looks like Vancouver finally found their A game last night just as St. Louis seems to have been hit with some kind of epidemic.

When Vancouver is firing on all cylinders they are one hell of a team.

The first thing that came to mind was, thank god they didn’t fire a goat cannon.

Obviously, that last post is in the wrong thread. The goat cannon in no way represents what the Canucks are firing.

Shit-damn-motherfucking-crap.

Go Ducks.

If it is any consolation, I was pretty damn nervous for most of the last half of the game. Until about 7 minutes left anyway

Next year, lets try and avoid each other until the 3rd round, okay?

Stanley is coming home to Dallas!

This thread was dropping down on page two and we haven’t even finished the first round yet. I can understand if Feynn doesn’t want to post here for a while but there are still things that need to be looked at and questions that need to be asked.

First off, congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning. After losing the first two games of the series they won four straight including in 3OT yesterday.

How do you think that the rest of the first round is going to play out?
Vancouver had looked pretty bad and then they caught some lucky breaks. MacInnis is injured and the Blues have been fighting the flu allowing the 'Nucks back into the series. Game 7 is tomorrow and it is a toss up right now but I’ll pick the Canucks because they have home ice.
The Wild played a great game on Saturday to force a 6th game against the Avs and I won’t be surprised if this series goes to a 7th game as well. The stat that has been thrown around about the Avs being 10-14 in series deciding games is mindboggling. They still have a lot of media that sucks up to them and they are lacking the killer instinct that usually is needed to win it all. They’ll survive the first round, and most likely the second round, but if they play the Stars in the Conference finals, they’ll be golfing again.
I have my doubts about the Leafs right now. They can’t keep the big Flyers forwards at bay, their defence isn’t strong and physical enough. Belfour, after a great bounce back season, looked like he gave up in OT the other day. I just can’t see Hitchcock letting Belfour beat the Flyers. This series will probably end tonight.

deb does happy dance

  • I got tickets to round 2 home game 1 for the Ducks*

They are so far up that if there wasn’t a roof I could probably step into the blimp, but hey it should be fun.

deb

Go Ducks, hmmm, I wonder if I should bring my Glaus Rally Monkey…or are they only good for the boys on the other side of the 57…hmmm
