Let The Quest for the Grail Begin!

…and back to back OT victories bring the cup just that much closer. Who is driving this pumpkin?

Satan. And that’s why I’m likin’ the chances of Los Diablos del Nueva Jersey.

Well… we’ve got a day off from the playoffs.

It’s time to make sure the remotes are fully charged and that there’s an adequate supply of cold refreshments at hand for the next series.

The way things turned out in the West were pretty surprising and I’m sure that many Avs and Wings fans are still wandering around in a state of shock. Pople who bet on the Ducks and Wild are probably rolling in extra cash right now as the odds against these teams winning in the first round must have been overwhelming. Don’t we all wish we had put down a good chunk of change on Anaheim sweeping Detroit?

Two of the best teams going down the stretch just happened to be Tampa and Anaheim so the Devils and Stars could be in for a huge surprise. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Crunchy… It could be a lot worse.

You could be a Ranger’s fan.

If Satan is driving we’re going to need to perform an exorcism.

Defensive hockey boner? Dude, that’s just wrong. Funny… but wrong…

Well it’s nice to know Detroit’s not the only team going from Cup favorite to first round fodder overnight. Thanks Avs…

With all original six teams eliminated, I’m hoping for an all-Canadian final (Vancouver vs. Ottawa).

Only 3 of the original 6 were eliminated. The other 3 chose not to participate in the playoffs this year.

[NELSON] Ha ha [/NELSON]

If only Mac wasn’t injured in Game 2…
If only Cajanek was avaiable and game ready for the entire series…
If only the team wasn’t sticken by a freakish case of the flue in Game 5…

The Blue’s just had one of the most bizzare season’s in NHL history…yet managed to get the 5 seed and lose in 7 to a very good Nuck’s team…

With that all said i’m still bitter as hell and i refuse to watch the rest of the playoffs because it hurts to much…

If the Queen had balls she’d be the King.

Well, I regret that I didn’t see this thread for the first round… (I don’t often wander into the Pit) but I’m here now.

Dallas handled Edmonton without too much trouble, and now, they get even healthier for the Ducks.

Anaheim has had their fun, and we appreciate the help, but it’s time for a vacation, boys. Get ready to go home for the summer.

I’ll be at the game tonight, watching Dallas light up Giguere (again). Maybe he can finish the game this time.

GO STARS!

2nd overtime, Stars and Ducks tied at 3!!!

This is your man on the scene reporting from AAC after the 7th period. This game is now the 4th longest game in league history. Both teams have had goals called back in OT. People are getting anxious. There are no more beer sales and food is hard to come by right now. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I may yet get to see a record breaking game.

DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS

Wow was that a game. Obviously the boys listened to me as I yelled at them to quit turning the puck over at center ice. Less than a minute into the 5th overtime and the Ducks had finally had enough, so they scored to finish it. This of course was the only way this game could end after that bogus call on that overtime goal they scored but it was called no good.

deb

Ah, the Devs continue their domination. How I love it :D.

Giguere is fucking unbelievable. When the Ducks looked like their legs were going to buckle and the Stars were storming the net, Giguere stood tall and refused (again) to allow a goal in overtime.

If it hadn’t been for that missed icing call in the 2nd which led to a Dallas goal we may have not bore witness to a history making game.

Deb… The Duck’s goal was called back because those are simply the rules.

It did my heart good to see the Ducks come out with the win and the game bore an uncanny resemlance to game 1 between the Ducks and the Wings.

So, for anyone who was watching this on TSN… is anyone else looking to download pictures of Sylvia?

I just got home. I think that I’ll be saving the ticket from this game. I’ve got to give the Ducks lots of credit. In the first two periods they ran some sort of trap that took away the neutral zone. They capitalized on mistakes and made very few of their own.

They can be beat, and hopefully the Stars will come through in game two.

Adam… you weren’t one of the guys booing the Stars were you?

I watched the whole thing… were you the guy wearing the blue shirt with the goofy hair?

No, that wasn’t me. I didn’t boo the players, in fact I clapped at the end of the game (How often do you see a game like that? All the players deserved some recognition), but I did boo a couple of non calls by the ref (Mr. MaGoo).

I was wearing a teal shirt. And you’d have to elaborate on what you mean by goofy hair. Since I don’t have too much of it.

FWIW, my aunt in Vancouver said she saw my father and I on HNIC during game 2 against the Oilers.

Looks like another win for the Good Guys.

Devils in 4. TB gets one goal in four games.

ALL HAIL SATAN!!!

Adam,

I think I’ll be saving my ticket from the Stars-ducks game, too.

Two ways to look at that game…

  1. Wow, Giguere is completely incredible, and I cannot possibly see how the Stars are going to get past that.

  2. The Stars played completely like hell for 40 minutes of regulation, and it still took 8 periods for the Ducks to beat them. Dallas can play far, far better, and they did put 3 in the net vs. Mr. Giguere.

I lean toward number 2. But I must admit, I am SO hoping for no more overtime for at least a little bit.

They seem to do fine as series go on, but Dallas is making quite the habit of losing game 1’s.

Looking forward to tomorrow!
