Well, of course apron wearing isn’t nekkid, swampy, that’s why I pointed it to all the, uh, pervs. Yeah, that’s right, I never started no nekkid bacon teasing…
In addition, Mr. Bear, when the temps have been in the single digits and it rises to 39°, not only is it window opening weather, it is tee shirt, shorts and flip flop wearin’ weather! If we had an ICU2 TV* I could prove it!
Feel better rosie.
I gotta bet ready for water aerobics. All this exercise has been very effective in dropping my glucose numbers. Right now I feel like I am starving, but exercising with food in me is awful, so I’ll wait until I get home. I did test my blood and it’s at 111, so I am taking my meter and glucose tabs, just in case.
So, you’ll all pretty much be sacked out by the time I get home. Sweet dreams y’all, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow.
*A 25 point bonus to the first person to correctly identify the television show which featured the ICU2 television.
swampy, dear, when you haven’t been able to open a window for two or three months, the temps getting above freezing are more than enough reason to open one for a little while just to get some fresh air in the place. The upside to this? I don’t have and don’t need AC here. Even during the summer the nights are cool. As in even into the high 40s cool. Mmmmmmm. Come August I will sit up here and laugh at you, while enjoying the lovely cool fresh mountain air.
ETA: What kai said, though I didn’t actually get dressed today and wouldn’t wear shorts until I (possible TMI) shave, which I haven’t bothered to do since it got cold. Also I don’t have any flip-flops at the moment.
I went to the Cool Bar, Canes lost, but I won a copy of NHL monopoly. The Booster Club sold out of beads(including mine). sadly, I was not flashed.:( At least the money went to the Food Bank($102).
Go get 'em, Soapy!
{{{{rosie}}}}
LiLi, I do the Liturgy of the Hours, or at least Morning and Night Prayer.
Kayrn, i have Folsom Prison blues stuck in my head. I hope it’s not an omen of my Nevada trip this summer.
It hit me as I got up this morning that there was an obvious thing to do for Lent: go to bed on time. I’ve gotten worse and worse in the past year and am consistently sleep-deprived. So: actually getting to bed at 10 and up at 6 for the next 40 days. We’ll see if I can at least come close.
Tired this morning. My tongue is a bit raw from biting it when I was all numb from getting the filling. I haven’t had a filling since I was a kid! I don’t recall it being this stressful. For some reason, it didn’t occur to me that they were gonna stick a needle in my gum. That part didn’t hurt, though. It was just bizarro world - the whine of the drill, feeling like I can’t breathe (because I was holding my breath so much - ) I was actually shaking when it was over.
Then I went to the bar and tried not to spill down my chin!
Went home and made Tilapia Creole and Dirty Rice, to celebrate Mardi Gras. It was soooo good. I had to be careful, but I was sufficiently de-numbed to eat dinner.
Have I told you guys that I miss my hubby? This is getting old.
Aww. {{{{{Rebo}}}}}; when will MrRebo be coming home? And {{{{{Soapy}}}}}} and prayers for your friend.
Up, caffeinated and at work! It’s still cold outside so I’m still thawing out. Temps are supposed to rise tomorrow, into the 50s, so maybe it won’t seem as bad. Guess I’m just tired of the cold and ready for something warm or warmer. Mind you, I am -not- wishing for HOT. LOL
I am so psyched because I am reconnecting with friends I haven’t seen in years and years, via that facebook place! LOL Who’d have thunk it?! Last night I was looking at pics of HS friends, and surprisingly a good number of them were quite recognizable, even though I haven’t seen them in nearly gasp 40 years!! Seriously, they look that good. Yeah, grayer/whiter haired, maybe a bit heavier, but recognizable none the less. So much fun reconnecting too.
Well, at least it’s Hump Day - happy Wednesday all. Ash Wednesday too, the start of Lent.
Blech. It’s raining and I have to go to the dentist this afternoon so I get to dread it all day. I’d rather have 3 root canals than have that masochistic hygienist touch me. She isn’t happy until she sees blood.
They managed not to inflict too much pain on me at the dentist’s, though the hygenist gave me yet another lecture about why I should floss every day. Lady, I’ve got permanent retainers on my upper and lower incisors and a bridge spanning a premolar and two molars… ain’t no way I’m going to spend 20 minutes threading floss around in that mess on a daily basis, thankyouverymuch. Hmph.
tarra, Facebook is cool that way, isn’t it? It’s kind of cool to see how much (or how little) everyone has changed since you all last saw each other.
ETA: LiLi, you gotta do what you gotta do. At least it wasn’t a pair of rusty old scissors for him to run with.
I wish I had a hand-cranked eggbeater. Nat would love it. We’re currently playing with big Lego. And the cat is whining at me. Why? Go away, cat! Stupid cat!
I love hand-cranked eggbeaters. I’d still play with it if I had one. Whisks aren’t fun at all.
So far this morning I’ve been to both works, copied a handwritten/typed manuscript and went on an hour-long quest for portable whiteboards. There are tutoring sessions in the library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and last night they couldn’t find any whiteboards for the science sessions to use. I found three out of five this morning. The other two are either broken or hidden in a fire escape.
