Wow - still, I think it would have been more fun to do a live, but in B&W, stage version.
There’s already a stage play parody with musical elements; it’s mostly just straight comedy but ends with a big musical number.
Return of the Living Dead could probably make a decent punk-rock opera.
The Tar Man would probably be great if you did an “…on ice!” version, too.

I would have been tempted to suggest “Autism: The Musical” but not only has that been done, I’ve seen it. It was largely underwritten by Stephen Stills, whose son Henry was in it (he was about 8 years old at the time) and out of all the kids who participated, he was the only one who attended a mainstream school and also the only one who has any chance of one day living independently.
