Let's construct an oldies playlist with songs that never show up on oldie stations

I have to wonder what parallel universe some posters are living in, in which their long-lost songs are not played. For instance, most of Cardiwen’s selections, i.e.

Slow Ride by Foghat
I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick
You Really Got Me by Kinks

are heard frequently on most of the oldies stations to which I’ve listened over the last decade or so.

Not that the Kinks are ever unwelcome.

I am still gagging over the thought that someone wants to hear stuff like “Billy, Don’t Be A Hero” and “The Night Chicago Died”. Glurff.

Hey, the thread is about songs that never get airplay. Sometimes, that’s a good thing.

There were some great ones already mentioned, and I won’t give credit for them!
I shall list them as if I just thought of them meself.

Chi Coltrane -Thunder and Lightning
Curtis Mayfield-Freddy’s Dead
Alice Cooper-Be My Lover
Ten Years After-I’d Love to Change the World
Paul Revere and the Raiders-Don’t Take it So Hard
Singing Nun-Dominique
Edgar Winter Group-Frankenstein
Merilee Rush-Angel of the Morning
Ted Nugent/Amboy Dukes-Journey to the Center of Your Mind
Roxy Music-Love is the Drug
New Colony Six-Things I’d Like to Say
Tony Bennett-San Francisco
Perry Como-Seattle

I forgot the name of this one…has the words "…so take the green from the grass and the blue from the sky up above…(?)

Colour My World by Petula Clark.

Thanks for reminding me about Alice Cooper. Their early stuff was TREMENDOUS. I nominate EVERY LAST FRIGGIN’ TRACK on “Love It To Death.”

Caught In A Dream
I’m Eighteen
Long Way To Go
Black JuJu
Is It My Body
Hallowed Be My Name
Second Coming
Ballad Of Dwight Fry
Sun Arise

OK, Ballad of Dwight Fry and Is It My Body are weak compared to the rest, and Sun Arise smells like filler, bujt good filler.

How about his earlier incarnation with the Ames Brothers? I.e.,
The Breeze and I

Hey, Evil Captor, you’ve got great taste in music, but I beg to differ on Dright Frye. I’d call that one a true “Classick” and of course it’s still used onstage pretty much every tour.

Did you know that “Sun Arise” was written and first performed by Rolf Harris, (“Six White Boomers”, “Tie me Kangaroo Down, Sport”) the Australian/Canadian performer? Strange choice, I’ll admit, but hey - Alice covered “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows” on “Goes To Hell”. You just never know what’s next…
