Let's eliminate the 60 second rule

This. Holy crap, people. We’re talking about a few SECONDS. Take that time to learn a foreign language, teach yourself brain surgery, do a push-up, put something in the crock pot for dinner, pet the dog, smell the roses. Those are seconds you’ll never get back.

I don’t post in the Game thread, but I can see where a posting delay would be annoying there.

I don’t get into the Game threads much or the “live during the event” threads that pop up sometimes like election night but I like the rule. On another board I used to follow some posters went nuts slinging one line responses to every thread or post that came along as a form of jamming (even I was guilty of that sometimes) and post-whoring. Sixty seconds may not stop such behavior but it at least serves as a sort of speed-bump for some of us. I could live without it but I think I would miss it and it could make the Mods jobs a little tougher sometimes and lead to a fair number of Instant Bans.

Keep the post delay, reduce the search delay. As someone noted above, if you screw up the search, two minutes a looong time to wait.

I consider it a bonus. I get to type my post, and then gaze at it with admiration for the remaining 50 seconds.

I don’t use board search anymore. Google is much faster and less restrictive.

I’ve run into the “please wait X seconds” and would sometimes hit the button early out of sheer spite, but now I just look at the news on another tab to pass the time.

I’ll say this.

The time delay for searches is bad news at least for me.

It takes me a handful of times to refine my search enough so that I don’t either get a buttload of results or just a few that still don’t match what I am looking for.

It’s bad enough (for me at least) that I don’t search for anything on this board using the board search unless I’m pretty desperate.

I certainly don’t use it even remotely casually…thats for sure.

Anything to lower that limit IMO would be a Godsend.

I can still live with a longish limit between posts…
