One post every 60 seconds?

I just recieved an error posting to the boards stating that we cannot post something within 60 seconds of our previous post. This is not a complaint, but I was wondering why this was done and when it was implemented.

Do a search in ATMB on “60 seconds” and you’ll find lots of threads about this, like this one in which it is revealed:

It’s a very big problem at most sites, especially when they are running slow, that people think their post “didn’t take”, so the hit send again. Flood control just slows that reaction to one minute, which should be enough to at least see that the system has received the request.
