I stumbled across FreeRice, a site that purports to donate rice to the hungry if you play a word definition game. How well this works I don’t know (but Snopes seems to buy it), but I do know that I never shy away from boasting to Dopers about meaningless things. As of right now, I’ve answered 100 words correctly and have reached a level of 45. Not bad for a non-native English speaker.

So, I invite you all to beat me and boast about it, while simultaneously (possibly) working to end world hunger. Can you say no? Didn’t think so.

48 is the highest I’ve gotten to as well. It’s pretty addictive!

50 on three different occasions. I usually answer two or three right there, then drop back to 48 or 49.

A lifetime of playing RPGs certainly helped with many of those words.

I got a 45.

I turned my 15 year old daughter onto that site. I figured it would do well as preparation for the SAT.

Oh, and she got a 100 on her last vocabulary test in English. :smiley:

I got to 50 the one time I tried. But then it kept recycling words and I got bored.

I couldn’t get past 49, but I donatedover 2000 grains of rice.

I’ve never even seen some of these words.

NO FAIR!! You can’t have a word I don’t know and list 4 other words I don’t know as the possible answer!!! Stupid rice.

It’s been weeks since I messed around with it, but I got a 43 and was very proud of myself. Hopefully Luci is wrong, though – good job if you got higher! (The thing’s freaking HARD!)

I got up to 49 a few times before I finally gave up after donating 3000 grains of rice. I admit that some of the time I was making wild guesses, but a few times I kicked myself when I saw the right answer and realized that I should have known that word.
