This website will donate 10 grains of rice for every multiple-choice vocabulary identification you get right. This is a good thing. The addicting thing is that every time you get a word right, the next word is harder. Every time you get a word wrong, the next word is easier. And it shows what vocabulary level you’re on. By their scale, of course.
My competitive streak earned someone 2200 grains of rice my first time out. It was such fun to touch so many words that I didn’t know or that took me time to suss out. I mostly bumped up and down between levels 46 and 50. It was a hoot.
I gave up at 2250 when the repetition of words started to get annoying. They repeated scoria, quiddity, xanthous, vendue and at least a couple others. Actually that got annoying before I got to 2250, but my competitive streak wouldn’t let me stop until I beat the OP. Also I was trying to see if I could hit 51, but 50 was the highest I could go.
I gave up when I hit 2000 because I was bored with the repeats. I was at level 43 at the time, but I hit 46 or so several times. (I kept forgetting to watch my score.)
I got up to level 50 or 51, but then I got stuck back in the low 40’s. I’ve donated about 1000 grains of rice, which could be arranged as an array of 10x10x10 rice grains. That’s not a lot of rice.
They say in the FAQ that there are 50 levels, so you probably didn’t get 51.
What fun! I was consistently getting correct the words in the 44-45 range, and 46 was actively challenging. I expect we as a group score higher than most, whatwith the word nerds in the audience.
