Let's list all the DRUMMER lead singers in rock 'n' roll

The singing bassists thread gave me the idea. I can think of four off the top of my head:

Phil Collins (when he was still with Genesis right after Peter Gabriel left)
Levon Helm from The Band
The lead singer of Night Ranger, whose name escapes me
Sheila E.

There must be more.

And how could I forget Ringo Starr?

Don Henley - Eagles

Andre Simone

Night Ranger’s drummer is/was Kelly Keagy. He shared singing duties with bassist Jack Blades.

Dave Grohl belongs in here somewhere.

Karen Carpenter.

Grant Hart of Husker Du.

Jimmy Marinos, the Romantics
Terry Bozzio, lead vocals with Zappa occassionally

Mickey Dolenz

Jimmy Marinos of The Romantics.

I’m a believer!

:smack:

Took too long to answer.

Pete Rivera of Rare Earth was their drummer and lead singer.

Gil Moore of Triumph switched off with Rik Emmett for lead vocals.

Steven Tyler

Country Dick Montana of the Beat Farmers

Fishman from Phish does some singing.

Robert Wyatt of Soft Machine did all their vocals (once he left the group, they played only instrumentals). He later did vocals for Matching Mole and had a successful solo career, including a British hit single with “I’m a Believer” (NoClueBoy, thanks for the reminder).

Gary Lewis of “Gary Lewis and the Playboys”

Also, wasn’t Dave Clark of the Dave Clark Five the drummer and the lead singer?

And people say I ain’t got no cultcha !!!

Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth.

The band even has a song in praise of drummers…I thought my old band was the only band with a song in praise of drummers!
