Well that’s obviously what happened. The boars slowed down, the hamsters rlaxed and took a little break, and the server powered down.
I had a slowdown–unable to load a “new post” page–at 11:22AM PST.

Maybe so but most of the time they probably just take their own sweet time. I wouldn’t recommend poking them to get them to speed up.
Personally, I ain’t hangin’ around where there are any boars to find out when they might slow down. Slow down from what anyways? I’m pretty sure that boars, being wild and all, don’t exactly have schedules so they have busy times and slow times.
Why do you need all this wild boar data anyways? Is it for a research paper? Isn’t there a rule about not posting for help with homework or something like that? Go research your own boars young man or lady! You’ll learn more that way.
I’m sure your intentions are good, but we already know the server can get overloaded at times. We’re aware of it, the Reader is aware of it, and once the Reader gives us something to pass along to everyone in the way of news, we will.
