whoops, I thought it was six. Probably drop “Do you know who I am”
That is indeed the list I used. (I’m just listing the effects to make sure I don’t forget them.)

Huh. I did a search and didn’t find those stunts the first time. My bad. :o
Also, Omi, I hope this won’t be a problem- but I’m going to be a way for a week (ie: I won’t be back until the 22nd or 23rd). So will it be alright if you guys DO start up the story, to just have me not involved, or just have someone Role play me until i get back?
I think i could easily stay out for a few Days, and then join back in spectacular fashion. Or feel free to kidnap me or something. I’m open to you controlling my character and putting him into whatever you need for the Plot, Omi, I just wanted to let you know though I’ll be out a week.
Thanks for the inform, but we actually do need to talk about the scheduling: I just found out that I’m going to be out of town for the next month or so; I’m leaving on July 4th, and getting back in early August… so we can either wait until august to start, or I can find someone to sub in for me and GM through July… does anyone have a preference?
I’m fine either way. Heck, if you decide to put it off a month, we might be able to round up two more players, since you were looking for about 8 anyway.
(Incidentally, I would highly recommend not going more than 8. I’ve played in online D&D campaigns before, and I find with too many people it can drag. Particularly when the party splits. Granted, I’ve never done any RPG’s on the Dope.)
(I agree with you here… the 8 figure was based on watching the Middle Earth game, which generally does pretty well with their 8ish players.)
I am more or less ok with either option. As a heads up for me, I am getting married on August 16th, so my time will be getting more and more limited as we approach that date. One the plus side, we are only taking a 2 day honeymoon, so I should be back online by the 19th.
eta: that was in response to you being out of town Omi. And the more I think about it, the more I think I would rather have a single GM for the whole game, so I am more than willing to wait.
Alright, that’s fine with me.
Your absence shouldn’t be a problem either… we could go with the “Bob was there, too” methodology or simply find a sufficiently pulp-y reason for you to be absent for a bit.
I have no problem with starting later. This being said; Omi, important email to you (via your addy listed here) from me, subject " Online Game ". Respond at your leisure.
A delayed beginning won’t be a problem. Heck, it might give me time to flesh out my stories a bit. Backstory can be your friend.
Checking to see if Omi got the email I sent. It may modify things rather sharply.
I got it, and I have no problems with you trying something else… the important thing is that everyone really loves their character, and we have lots of time to get things settled.
Okay. As Omi sort-of mentioned… I realized I wasn’t really clicking with Sam. It was a cool concept, but it wasn’t gelling in my mind. Ergo, I’m starting over from scratch. Should have a workable idea by the end of the weekend, and I thank you all for your patience in the matter.
No problem. Let us know when you have something and you and I can start working on a new crossover arc.
Okay, doing this on the fly, we’ll see how it works.
Lucas Honor, reporter for the Daily Beacon
Early Childhood: Lucas grew up in an orphanage in Australia. He was a rough-and-tumble sort who found himself on the wrong end of a fist on too many occasions. It wasn’t that he didn’t know how to avoid trouble; he just never put that knowledge to practice. He had a tendancy to stand up for those weaker than himself against bullies, and to take the blame for things done by other kids. He felt he had to be the shield, and he never understood why. He just knew it was the right thing to do. At nights, he would trace his finger across his bruises lightly, each a reminder of the cost of truth. He’d also gaze curiously at the marking on his left forearm. He’d had it as long as he’d remembered, but wasn’t sure where it had come from. It was the rough outline of a winged horse.
Aspects: The Price of Truth (Tends to make enemies by shielding the weak)
Marked by the Pegasus (A secret organization perhaps? Not sure.)
The War: Lucas snuck out of the orphanage and joined the ANZAC, getting shipped off to Gallipoli with few questions asked about his age. It was there he learned that there were horrors more terrible than the orphanage, and vowed afterwords to increase the scope of his protection to more than just people he knew.
After returning from the slaughter that was Gallipoli, Lucas found there was no family and no work for him in Brisbane. He managed to hop a freighter to America, and, sadly, fell into the wrong company. Due to the Volstead act, Lucas found himself part of a bootlegging operation. He thrived in the enviornment, but found that the violence of the mobs involved sickened him. In the end, Lucas did what he always did; he put himself in the way. Turning against the mob, Lucas found that direct confrontation would never do. He turned to the power of the press, and made more than a few enemies, but put a lot of deserving people behind bars.
Aspects: Gallipoli veteran (Military knowledge and contacts, but duty and flashbacks as well)
Badfellahs (Lots of knowledge of the mob, but almost all bridges burnt, contact-wise)
(The ‘Novel’ stage will come tommorow, when I have time to think about it a bit more.)
Planned stunts include: Danger Sense, Takes on to Know one, Heart’s Secret, Last Leg, The Right Questions.
Planned skills:
Superb: Empathy
Great: Deceit, Rapport
Good: Alertness, Investigation, Resolve
Fair: Athletics, Fists, Guns, Stealth
Average: Contacts, Drive, Endurance, Leadership, Survival
(The basic idea behind it all: A tough crusader for truth, who knows how to get information, but always seems to burn his bridges. Also somehow linked to a secret society with the pegasus marking on his arm)
That sounds like it could fit in well: we have lots and lots and lots of dark-avenger types, so I think a secretive crusader will fit in, while providing a neat contrast.
Hey guys, sorry I didn’t check in earlier but I’m also okay with a later start. Omi, I’ll send you my full character sheet via PM sometime tonight.
I’m thinking that if we all can finalize our characters before Omi takes off, maybe he can give us a bit of intro text as a teaser for when this thing starts up in August.
cool! I will get you my character sheet tomorrow Omi.
That’s a good idea; I have a pretty decent idea of where we’ll start, so I’ll write an intro bit and post it before I leave in July.
