The Who’s catalogue is much more (pardon the pun) meaty, so that’s an easy call.
Ride or The Charlatans?

Ride or The Charlatans?
I dont know either of the above but I think someone got to listen to some more kinks. You’d be surprised. They look better in hindsight, moreso every year that goes by.
I think I heard one song by the Charlatans, so I’ll go with that.
Mike Nesmith or Davey Jones?
Mike is clearly the more talented and accomplished musician. Also a songwriter. Also a video music pioneer. So, this is an easy choice for me.
Davey has the edge in theatrical and (perhaps) singing talent, and general cuteness, but that doesn’t add up to Mike’s talents.
How about Davey or Mickey? That seems like a fairer comparison. They were the two main Monkees singers. Both did a little songwriting (very little). I know who I give the nod to.
Mickey, has to be. Better voice, better musician (drums vs maracas), better songwriter, better at general weirdness.
Joan Jett or Lita Ford?
I agree completely. Mickey can also play guitar. Not sure how well.
Joan Jett. I never got into Lita’s music.
Norah Jones or Adele?
Adele. I like Norah Jones just fine, but Adele is clearly the more dynamic performer, and that’s puts her on top for me.
Pete Yorn or Matthew Sweet?
Matthew Sweet. (Like his solo work, and kinda like the covers he did with Susanna Hoffs. Not familiar with Pete Yorn.)
Split Enz or Crowded House?
Crowded House. Don’t Dream It’s Over, reminds me of the one that got away.
The Archies or The Monkees?
The Monkees. The Archies were never more than mass-produced bubblegum. The Monkees was a funny TV show that spawned a band that people still enjoy to this day.
Tangerine Dream or Shadowfax?
