I mentioned in another thread a few weeks ago the involvement of Wojtyla, through his Nuncio, which means his personal representative/ambassador, Msgnr. Pio Laghi, in the torture and murder of some thirty thousand Argentine citizens. The Nuncio, at least in theory, speaks for the Pope. He specifically approved of torture and killing of non-Catholics, and one of Laghi’s sermons was paraphrased during the trial for crimes against humanity of General Videla. Videla, who liked to be referred to as “El Catoliquisimo” (the most Catholic) was asked why his thugs kidnapped, tortured, and murdered the sixtyseven year old founder of the Grandmothers of the Disappeared, later known as Las Madres de le Plaza de Mayo. He replied- and I repeat, he was quoting from a sermon by Laghi- “A terrorist is not only someone who makes bombs. A terrorist is anyone who holds and idea that is in opposition to our Western Christian society.”
Wojtyla was asked sveral times to condemn this statement, and refused.
Okay, folks; Literary analysis of the topic text has ensued in Cafe Society in this thread.
Oh, yeah. Any chance of locking this thread?
None at all.
