well? I pulled in at a station today and see that plastered on signs and even the damn pump handle…isn’t that taking a slogan too far? i mean how do americans look to others by using stickers and other silly propaganda to make money and to seemingly boost the moral of the public in trying times? a bit cheap i think…
I thought “Let’s roll!” gained popularity in the film Critters.
I thought it became popular because of Sgt. Esterhaus in “Hill Street Blues:”
“OK, now, let’s roll—and hey, hey, hey—let’s be careful out there.”
Nope.
There was a huge banner with that slogan hanging over a local vacuum cleaner repair store, shortly after 9/11.
I thought it was an odd place for it.
Didn’t his widow try to trademark it or something?
I really wish he would have used a swear word or something, then I wouldn’t have to see “Let’s Roll” on a golf putter.
