So is anyone okay with protestors purposely blocking ambulances, fire trucks, and police from responding to emergencies, or preventing possibly critically ill patients from getting to the hospital? How would you feel if that was your family member or loved one? This is why blocking roads and intersections is idiotic.

Well what do ambulances, fire trucks, and police do when construction shuts down a major road for days or even weeks? This is a planned and pre-announced event, for one day. I am confident our first responders are capable of adjusting to a known street closure and finding the best possible route. What are your thoughts on freight trains that stop and just sit there shutting down roads for sometimes hours, are you equally concerned about that when it comes to ambulances etc? Since that is impossible to plan for that seems like a much greater concern.
Also, is the distribution of first response emergency services and facilities that screwed up in Chicago that unimpeded access to Lake Shore Drive is usually a critical need?
Serious question. ‘Cos the Santa Ana Freeway is a bottleneck in Los Angeles, but folks in downtown L.A. don’t typically need hospital services in the City of Commerce.
