Plane lands on Lake Shore Drive today fucking up south side traffic and causing it to be rerouted. Unhinged racists vow to now include “pilots in trouble” to the list of people they would TOTALLY be upset with and probably not support, just like they haven’t supported so far in their lives.
The idea, or one of them, behind disruptive protests, is to show the country that things that harm the least privileged among us can also affect the comfortable.
Don’t forget cyclists
and runners
and bridges
and winter
Oh yeah, that was a fucked up one!
Huh, apparently advocating outright murder of protesters is AOK here. Who knew.
As a quick aside… Anyone saying, “Man, I would have totally been on board back when MLK was around, but…” Cut the shit. Stop lying to yourself to make yourself feel better. What, do you think those people back then were moral monsters who couldn’t exist now? No. It’s just that back then, King wasn’t obviously right. The same people who are decrying this shit as “too radical” would have been decrying the bus boycott, the marches, and everything else as “too radical”. Give it a rest.
I mean, it’s a stupid, shitty joke Shodan made, evidence of his character, but it didn’t read to me like actual advocacy of murder.
Oh definitely.
Lake Shore Drive is now re-open after the protests.
Let’s take a look at the rush hour traffic:

The march has now reached Wrigley Field. Cubs fans are watching from the stadium. Police of all sort - on foot, on bicycle, and on horses - are deployed to maintain order.
I counted about 100 of these clowns, some of them marching for other causes. It was extremely unorganized, I think they were trying to take up as much space as possible, but this caused them to just be shouting out random slogans.
Glad to see it was a miserable failure. Since some of the protestors wanted, ‘No police! No Prisons!’ I’ll be encouraging the mayor and my alderman to reallocate officers from the South and West sides to the north side of the city.
Some people want to raise their fists for social justice. Others just want to be a monkey’s paw.
You tell 'em angry man! I’m sure they’ll jump right on your suggestion! But why stop there? Tell them that they can take their stinking Martin Luther King Jr. with them, too! Fuckin doofus.
Or, hey, go crazy - take public transportation once in a while.
I think the football players taking a knee is a good example of a successful protest that doesn’t inconvenience anyone. It’s not like they’re refusing to play. They’re not disrupting the game. But they definitely got people talking and paying attention, which was their goal, so I’d say it was a success.
I’ve seen more twenty somethings crossing the street five minutes ago after Lollapalooza closed than protestors that were so happy that they, ‘Shut it down.’
I see orange on an off-ramp. TERRORISTS!
A fair criticism of a protest is that it didn’t work. (Another fair criticism of a protest, of course, is that it’s protesting something that doesn’t need to be protested).
A shitty criticism of a protest is that it might inconvenience your privileged ass.
Ok so are you going to stop whining and bitching about it then?
And don’t you feel silly about all of your histrionics over this march now?
I’m guessing probably not.
