Let's Talk About Our Dogs!

Momofgirls, this picture of the dogs on the steps is fantastic! Especially since Sandy won’t let jack on the Jack sized step. lmao

Aw, I love everyone’s pets.
Here is Elwood.
He is a 4 and a half year old English Mastiff. He’s not very big (I mean, for a mastiff). In his youth he seemed to have a bit of a Napoleonic complex, but has since settled down. He adores our little tabby, Willow.

Thanks! The picture really shows just who the alpha dog of the two is. Actually, even the cat puts Jack in his place at times!

That is so sad! We got Sandy from the animal shelter; she had been picked up as a stray. She was obviously an abused pet because she has scars all over her legs and was very skittish when we first got her. It took her a long time not to flinch when we would go to pet her, and even now, after six years, she occasionally still does. But she is the most gentle and loving dog I have ever known.

Here’s my mutt, a six years old lady whose name means “Pretty”:

This is the story of Weezy, our new 3 1/2 year old boy bullboxer.

I’m 21, and this is the first real pet my family’s ever had. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog.

Weezy often has people cower in fear from him, since the staffie (bull) in him is fairly prominent. But he adores people, almost to a fault. He approaches anyone, tail wagging, head held high, in active pursuit of attention. He knows his commands well, and can open a variety of doors on his own. Never barks, even when barked at profusely by other dogs. He’s a great example of what a bully breed dog can be like in the right hands.

He gets along swimmingly with children, and all other dogs…with the exception of other males who are young and his size. Hopefully next week’s neutering will help!

Finally! Free posting has allowed me to de-lurk and I get to post in a pet thread!

I adopted Bailey from Animal Services a little over a month ago. She is very sweet and pretty well-behaved, other than chewing on a few things in the yard. After getting over her kennel cough and getting used to her new home, she has really been a lot more energetic and playful (she was very timid the first couple of weeks). But her favorite thing is just to roll over and get a tummy rub.

Murfie

He lost his eye to glaucoma a couple of years ago.

Here he is taking care of his new baby sister.

Murfie & Peachy

We thought he was at death’s door, before she came along. Now, he’s acting like a pup again.
