I hesitate to write this as it will be an easy target for those calling it snake oil yada yada, but I think it may be as useful to many people as it has been for me.
On November 1 last year, I saw an article in a newspaper saying that the University of Windsor in Ontario received a grant to further study the effects of Dandelion root tea on one form of Leukemia. I decided that day that I would try it as I had nothing to lose.
I did not know then, that the form of Leuk they were studying was not the same as my own problem (CLL).
I followed the exact instructions on the tea pack, and within a few days, it completely rid me of the depression often associated with CLL. My perspective was so much brighter and I felt much better in general. Eventually, my energy increased as well and I was back to working harder at the gym and riding my road bike 20+ miles a day in good weather.
On September 1st of this year, I left for 3 weeks travel along the Loire and Brittany in France. The instructions 'for medicinal use" on the tea pack are ‘boil for 5 minutes followed by 20 simmer.’ Hence, I did not take the tea along to France. After 8 days, I felt the depression coming back like a powerful wave. I was v. tired late in the day(s) and prone to being grouchy (well, it was my 71st b.d.). Within 3 days of my return home, back on the tea, the depression was gone, I was cheerful and stronger.
Of course, you will enquire about my blood numbers. When I started the tea, my numbers were seriously low, the bad increasing slowly & the good steady, but low. I was v. close to having Chemo. For whatever reason, my numbers have changed v. little in 11 months. I mainly avoid chemo right now because I do not have the physical signs of needing further treatment, and my health is fine.
There is a form of the tea in health food stores which turns out to be dark and not so tasty and may deter you (but not awful either). But if you look a lot, there is one named “Celebration” which says “Dandelion root raw” which is mild and as good as any tea and worked for me.
