Does anybody use that little sub-pocket on the right side of Levi denim jeans? I dont recall ever puting anything in there. I would hazard a guess that it is a watch pocket.
I always thought it was for coins.

It’s just the right size for a Spyderco Cricket pocketknife, or loose change, or Pocket Fluff
I’ve heard them called ‘condom pockets’. I don’t know anyone who kept one there, however.

Well I just put my cell phone in there and it fits perfectly.
I am also of the loose change persuasion, at least as far as that little pocket is concerned.

I do, for coins sometimes and sometimes for a pill or my vitamins. For instance, I’m rushing out of the house in the morning, and I don’t have time to take my vitamins right then, so I shove them into a little snack bag, and then into that little coin pocket.
Cell phones? What kind of cell phone would fit into that teeny little pocket?
I have a Motorazr2, and it fits in all of my watch pockets.
We used to call it the “coke pocket”. Now I use it to hold my prostate medication.
Zippo’s fit nice in there, but perhaps oddly my pocket watches do not (I’ve been led to believe that was the original purpose of them).
Mostly use it for afternoon medications when I know I’ll be away from my regular haunts. I know I’m getting old because I have prescriptions for the stuff I now carry in there 
Never carried a watch there, but I have a cellphone or pocket knife.
My motorcycle keys are on a different ring from my car and other keys, and the watch pocket is a great place to put them so they don’t get lost easily.

Myself, I hide a 500-baht note in there if I’m out in the bars. On the off chance I get my wallet ripped off – which has only happened once in all my years, long ago – I can be assured of getting home okay.
Also it was presumably a good place to keep large and/or valuable coins, back when there were real silver half-dollars and dollars, not to mention gold coins before 1933. I would certainly rather carry a gold dollar or quarter eagle in a small pocket where it would sit securely, and not in a large pocket in which it would clank around with other coins and items, and perhaps get lost.
I have a crazr (sp?) and it’s about the same size as the link you provided, less than half would fit into the little pocket in my jeans. Maybe my watch pocket is smaller than yours? 
I always thought it was a coin pocket; that’s what I use it for.
I used to put my cellphone in mine. Until I left it in there and the cellphone took a bath. My new phone’s too fat to fit in that pocket now anyways.
