Library1900 is in the hospital

Got a call today from my husband’s workplace. He collapsed, was given CPR and rushed to the hospital. Docs say he had a heart attack (he’s 47) and hes now in CCU pending a CAT scan. He’s unconscious and on a ventilator.

We’ve only been together 3 years.

I’m so sorry honey. Please keep us updated as you’re able.

Hope he pulls through so.

Sorry to hear this happened. :frowning: My best wishes to him and everyone who loves him.

{{NotherYinzer}} I hope things will improve.

I’ll be thinking of the both of you.

So sorry to hear this - fingers crossed and good thoughts for you both.

I hope for the fullest and quickest recovery. We’re here for you both.

So sorry to hear this! I’m wishing him the best for a full recovery.

I’m sorry to read this. My best to you both.

Good luck to you both! Please let us know something when you can.

I will keep both of you in my prayers tonight. As others have said, keep us informed.

I’ve been through this, my father had a heart attack, and he’s fine now thirty years later.

Try to sleep and eat as normally as possible. Trite but true, as my mothe the RN would say. You need to keep your own health up, to be strong for him.

You’re in our thoughts.

Oh, no! Prayers for a fully and speedy recovery.

I’m so very sorry. Best Wishes for the fastest recovery!

oh goodness. i will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers.

You’re absolutely both in my thoughts. Best to both of you.

He had a cardiac arrest and possible ischemic stroke. He’s in a medical coma now, being kept cold for 24 hours. They’ll warm him up then give him an MRI.

Thanks to all of you for your support. I’ll keep you posted.

How frightening!

Sounds like his coworkers did a good job with the CPR.

I’m glad he is getting the hypothermia treatment. It really does improve outcomes tremendously.

The Dope will be thinking of you. Have someone take care of you while you take care of him.

I’m glad that someone was around to help your husband get a pulse back quickly enough to make it to the hospital and get the cooling treatment. I used to work in an ICU, and I saw a few cases where the cooling treatment seemed to makes a big difference in allowing someone to recover from the neurological effects of a cardiac arrest.
I hope that things start looking up soon.
