A couple of months ago, I posted about how stressful my life was at the time, what with the impending wedding, the house purchase, the massive deadlines at work, etc.
Well, that was then, this is now, and life is good! The wedding and the honeymoon went well (thanks, in no small part, to all the stressful planning), we’re officially moved into the new house and almost completely unpacked (I assembled the Ping Pong table last night), and the major project I’ve been working on was completed on Friday. My stress level has completely bottomed out, my wife and I made it through everything without any major fights, and I’m now getting some on a regular basis
So… how y’all doing?

Not as good as you, right now. I’ve just moved in with Pricegal and the apartment is a mess, boxes and furniture everywhere. I’m sure it will be great in a week or two, but right now, going home feels like a chore.
I hate moving. Absolutely hate it. There is no part of it that I like. I don’t like looking for places to live, selling the old place, packing, unpacking, the physical moving, renting a lorry, calling friends to help, planning, nothing. I hate every goddamn cursed second of it.
But hey, I’m glad you’re happy. Didn’t mean to bring you down (if bring you down I did).
Yes, moving is hell, and unpacking is worse. Which is why I didn’t post this message last week.
But once it’s all finished, and the last box is unpacked, the widescreen TV is set up, you can find all your clothing, you can get out of bed and go to the bathroom without tripping over anything, and – in short – you’re finally able to call the new house “home,” ah… life is sweeeet!

I’m unpacked, in a nice apartment in a new town, which I like so far. Just had my first day at my new job, and really like the people I’ll be working most closely with. They took me out to lunch and it was actually fun, not an inquisition.
Also, I just bought a horse, who will be shipped down in a couple weeks, and have found a good stable to keep her at, cheaply.
I joined 24 Hour Fitness and got a great deal on a 3-year membership. I can shop at Trader Joe’s whenever I want.
I still have my thesis hanging over my head, but it is nearly done, and my advisor is at my mercy now, so I have more leverage to get it approved quickly.
