Life Mottos

Let’s hear them.

Mine right now: “Only talk when you have too. The rest of the time, just stand there and look good.”

‘‘Half of life is showing up.’’ This is a really good motto for people with avoidance behavior.

You can’t control other people’s actions, only your own.

and

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Hakuna Matata

I should probably be working on something right now…

While chain swing seat will be warm.

That’s my motto.

Also: We have two ears and one mouth for a reason.

You gotta live like you’re on vacation.

This. And, one I’ve been thinking a lot about lately:

When given the option, choose the more compassionate course.

“If it’s stupid and it works, it ain’t stupid.”

The only person looking out for you, is you.

This is probably going to hurt a little bit.

Mine is “you can’t forget where you came from.”

This too shall pass.

Works to get me through the shit times by reminding me they’ll end, but also reminds me to concentrate on the good times and make the most of them.

Another I say to myself is “Whatever happens will happen.” It sounds a little dumb, perhaps, but it’s been known to work.

One of my mottos this summer, while working very hard on a production of a musical, was “I’ll take it” - meaning I’ll take whatever comes.

This is a good one. I’ve used it before, too.

If you know what you’re doing, it’s not an adventure.

Mine is: “An apostrophe is only used to indicate possession or contraction.”

“Where ever you go, there you are.”

A closed mouth says nothing wrong.
