Life On Mars 2/18

I’ve been enjoying this show a lot this season. I never really gave it a chance but now that I’ve left it on after Lost, it’s grown on me. I underestimated just how weird things can get on this show, it seems like it is getting almost Lost-esque. The weirder the better I say. The soundtrack for the show is ridiculously good. And Annie? Damn, that is just the icing on the cake there. Though as much as I have enjoyed the show, I’ve only just started really paying attention; what is with the nano-bots? Or have they not told us yet?

As far as last night’s episode, I hate to say I only made it about half way through, apparently I was way more tired than I thought. Could someone recap the second half? The last things I remember- they had just found the gun in the box of Chinese food and Annie and Ray were getting in the car to go question someone.

Thanks.

The Russian guy who held up the bank?
He said he was working on them.

The end of the following episode indicated a joint US/Russian project called “Aries”.

They went to the councilman’s office, where Annie found a blackboard with notes that are almost identical to Sam’s. Annie later meeds with some old guy–I wan’t really paying attention to this part–who gives her a briefcase containing the identity of the shooter.

Meanwhile, the guys at the 125 learn that the councilman was investigating dirty cops. Sam & Gene soon suspect that the shooter is a cop. Sam discoveres that the hooker with the afro is really the one who the councilman gave his condo to. He was one of her regulars, she was to him as Annie is to Sam.

One of the johns starts hitting up the bride, which causes argument between him and the groom. The bald dude subdues one of them and, in the process, reveals himself to be a cop. He then grabs Maria and puts a knife to her throat and the pair head outside, where Ray & Annie are just arriving. Ray tries to grab a knife but the guy dodges, then brings up the knife in an attempt to stab Ray. Annie konks the guy with a blackjack.

When all is said & done, Sam suggests Annie become “No Nonsense Norris”. Annie and Ray are about to leave when they have a discussion. Ray indicates that he doesn’t care what happened that day and that she’ll always be “No Nuts Norris” to him. Annie asks him why he’s so scared of her.
Great thanks!

When Sam was talking to the councilman, and he was telling him about the new President, Sam said something like “Wow, ___ won.”, but it didn’t sound like ‘he’, Barack, or Obama? Did anyone catch what he said? Did they make up a name? The councilman kept saying things were “hopeful” so I assume they were actually talking about Obama.

I think I am just going to have to restart this series when the DVD set comes out; I look forward to it though.

ABC, surprisingly, has had a pretty nice run with the “weird”/quirky shows- Lost, LoM, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone(first season at least, never caught the second), and they’ve put new life back into Scrubs.

Oh, and could a mod change the title to 2/18? All this time travel stuff, apparently I can’t even read a calendar anymore.

Glad to help.

Unfortunately I missed the first five minutes. I suggest going to abc.go.com to rewatch, I’d do it myself but I have to wait until I get home.

I think he just said “Wow, he really won.” I sure didn’t hear a name. I’m liking this show too, and it’s easy to just leave it on after LOST.

He said, “Wow, he actually won?” or something v. similar.

Wasn’t that his inauguration playing on the TV when things got all squirrely?

Looked like it.

Watching it online now.

Yeah, that’s what Sam said. Before that, the councilman was clearly talking about Obama (“And there’s a black president. Our first!”).

I really like this show, and I’ll be getting it on DVD when it’s out. I’m also eager to watch the original British “Life on Mars”.

Jason O’Mara is dreamy, but that has nothing to do with my enjoyment.

More 70s music! More!

I liked Ray’s wife–I hope we see more of her.

I hope we’ve seen the last of Gene’s daughter. They were probably trying to make Gene more, well, human and easier to identify with, but I found the whole daughter story-line kind of boring. I’m also beginning to really like Ray in spite of myself. I like the fact that he didn’t change his attitude after just spending an afternoon with Annie, and yet it’s clear that he is a bit more than just an asshole. Annie is just awesome.

All in all, I love the show more every week.

I’d like to see a side story re: a friendship between Ray’s wife and Annie.

See if the writers can re-create the whole 70’s female angst thing.

Maybe it would humanize Ray?
