"The Sarah Connor Chronicles" season 2 starts tonight (9/5)

I honestly barely remember what happened in season one. Something about a chess computer that was going to take over the world?

Anyway, I suppose I’ll tune in, to see if it’s at all interesting.

“The female terminator got blown up real good,” my little nephew. Where he learned to speak like that I don’t know since we live in the north. Anyway, I’m excited to see it. Thanks for the update, I was going to watch MNF at the bar and I hadn’t set my DVR yet.

Hmmmmm.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on…and I love it!

I really need to see the season one finale again.

Ok. It’s just ended and all I have to say is, I shouted “NO WAY!” only moments ago.

This show is too effing cool. And Shirley Manson? Frickin’ neat!!! I saw her in concert once and was surprised at how petite she is, but she really has the perfect look (cultivated over years) for sweet badness.

[stoked]

Wait, I thought the liquid metal terminators were not supposed to sound all wooden and stiff.

Oh, that’s just Shirley Manson’s acting!

Seriously, though, why did they make her try to do an American accent? I could still hear her real accent through it.

Dang, there are some hot women on that show. It’ll keep me watching, even though if anything it’s starting off even sillier and more incoherent than last season.

Nevertheless, Shirley Manson? Pure genius.

Why? Was she in a previous Terminator movie?

No. I’d say just as a way to generate interest. Do something a little different. And I don’t at all think she was attempting to change her accent.

What Gorgon Heap said. Plus, genius in that the producers apparently correctly divined what I’ve most been wanting from TV the past few years, which is some Shirley Manson to look at.

When did the female robot turn against the Connors, I thought she was their ally?

Who’s Shirley Manson? The robot? God, I can’t remember anything anymore.

Ring, Shirley Manson is the lead singer for Garbage. She’s the Scotts readhead.

It’s of interest because she has no real acting experience but in the age group presumably most interested in this show she has a lot of pop culture punch. I grew up on Terminator and loved Garbage when they were big.

I still like them, but so far as I know they haven’t done anything in a long time. This is a boost both to FOX for getting a rock star in a TV show and for Garbage, which has pretty much vanished from the scene.

Yeah. I mean, come on…why the hell would you give an fairly uncommon accent to a killer robot you were sending back to infiltrate the past? That’s just lazy filmmaking.

P.S., the warehouse truck scene…
Awww…that was so cute. I mean, probably still a callous, half-crazed attempt to lure John to his death, but still…awwww. Tuggin’ at the old heartstrings, there.

Practically could’ve made it into a Han and Leia moment, with a little tweaking.

:double  :
We can fix it.

Now, that’s funny right there! I never saw that before-thanks!

She was damaged. If you look at he on-screen internal sensor log info there’s a message that reads something like “chip structure damaged” right at the beginning, just before she pulls a chunk of debris out of her skull.

We saw in the last season that the Terminators, even after being happily reprogrammed, have a chance of flipping out and going on a killing spree.

In Cameron’s case, she has a fairly good excuse, having had her brain physically damaged and all.

I kind of liked it. I’ll keep watching this season. I like the ex-boyfriend ambulance driver, I hope he’ll continue to be on the show.

So was that “termination overridden” display on Cameron’s visual the result of John’s programming kicking back in? Or did she override it herself, somehow? It looked like John just dusted off her chip and re-inserted it, without really fixing anything. I guess we’re supposed to continue to be suspicious of her motives.

There was a scene that showed John working on the chip.

The part that I loved: after she was fixed, she told the mom not to let John try to fix her if she ever malfunctioned again. Showing that 1) she really is on the good side now, and 2) she’s a robot who follows her programming–John is important, not her.

And the mom’s pissed looking reaction to it all.

One thing they implied but never made clear: was it John that killed the guy in the room before the Terminatrix limped in at the beginning?

It was implied but never made clear.
