Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 Part 2 thread [open spoilers]

Sarah (presumably still wounded in that mysterious barn) & the Gang are back again, shuffled off to Fox’s Friday Night Dead Zone leading into Dollhouse. The local TV reviewer promised a very creepy scene with the ShirleyBot in tonight’s episode.

Holy crap! That’s on tonight? I had forgotten about that. Can’t wait to watch.

They were heading back towards the fun of season one towards the end of the last run. I hope it continues in that vein.

Kyle Reese appears to Sarah in a dream; Weaver gets over-protective of John Henry with fatal consequences.

I thought I’d alert the Dopers who may have been caught off-guard by the change in day after the long hiatus.

Already remindeded everyone.

Sarah is still unconscious next to a possibly Skynet facility right?

Can’t wait to watch this tonight. Hope the Friday night death slot doesn’t kill the show though.

I didn’t see your thread earlier. I see that they’ve been merged. No problem.

Dude, that guy playing Kyle Reese needs help from the makeup department on his beard.

It’s distractingly bad.

Who plays the cop with the sunglasses? His voice is familiar.

I think he was on Enterprise.

Okay, that’s where I know him from.

Yes - he played “trip” the engineer

Brian

I was thinking he might be a new recurring character…oh well. Bad things do find the Connors, don’t they?

Is Reese a hallucination, a dream or what? Was he popping up like this last season? If so I sure don’t remember it.

I’m really glad the show returned for another season, I certainly didn’t expect it to do so. In fact I thought most of you guys didn’t think it would make it. Anyone know how solid its future is?

I just wish The robot chick would get to kick some ass more often. Wearing some sexy clothes wouldn’t hurt either.

Well, I see popular culture has finally evolved past the stage of “gritty anti-heroes with a permanent day’s stubble,” to “semi-gritty, somewhat sensitive heroes with really lousy beard stubble.”

Ah, well. Progress, I guess

•Well…so much for Trip. Maybe he shouldn’t have been using police equipment from thirty years ago. (Y’know, no vest, and just a revolver)

•Weaver-Fu. Awesome. Slashy slashy.

On the whole though…really now, Fox. I mean, thanks for not canceling the series before you actually aired it this time, but come on…less neurotic brooding and paranoia, more wanton robotic murder.

Nice fake out when they lingered in the bathroom just before ShirleyBot’s slashy slash. I figured they were going to her morph from another bathroom fixture…then she just walked in and started slicing. Yikes!

I thought that was a great bit of television – the intelligently designed machine questions the intelligence behind the design of humans; some nice symbolism with the scorched apple tree (of knowledge! – though maybe I’m giving them too much credit here. Also, did anybody catch what the photo showed?); both the cop and the doc were pretty good characters for one-offs; nice bit of ambiguity with blond girls’ reason for attempting suicide (though I still don’t like that character very much, and ditto for the Asian girl from the future); Sarah being forced to accept some help for once, showing some potential for a character to develop that had previously been in a ‘tough and above everything’ kind of dead end… If they manage to keep this up, it’ll continue to entertain for a long time, I think.

However, did anybody else expect the sunglassed cop to refer to his deputies as ‘son #1/#2’?
I’m actually a bit disappointed he didn’t become a recurring character; he could’ve filled the ‘misguided law enforcement’ slot vacated by Ellison’s becoming John Henry’s foster daddy.

Hah! Seeing as the actor’s name is Connor Trinneer.

The picture was the famous “sad Sarah” picture the kid took of her in Mexico at the end of the first movie, the picture that Kyle Reese fell in love with!

Awesome episode
