Lightwave 3-D question: Segment Memory

As I recall there are a few other Lightwave users on this board (the 3-D software package, not the stuff shooting from the sun).

I’ve been rendering a very complicated animation sequence featuring very high polygon models, ray-traced shadows and morph targets (ugh!). The frames are taking forever, even with my fancy souped-up computer. I’ve cranked up the segment memory from the default 2200000 mb to 9000000, but despite what the users manuals and the Flay site says I’m not seeing any difference.

Anybody else have this problem?
