Scandal at the University of Central Florida: three professors fired for helping a PhD student get their degree in return for grant money.
*""That’s crazy. It makes you think like, ‘aw man, maybe not all the degrees you get are going to be like, for real,’” student Wallace Borges said.
UCF announced Monday it was firing the director of the university’s Institute for Simulation and Training along with two other faculty members after an investigation revealed they helped a student cheat to get their degree in exchange for grant money.
"It’s shocking because like, it’s UCF, you wouldn’t expect that to happen because a majority of professors are helpful and would try to get you there without money or anything,” UCF student Keymara Thomas said…
“If it’s like a fake degree, per say, it kind of like stops the credit, or credibility I guess of the school,” Borges said.”*
It’s reassuring that most UCF profs don’t require $$$ from their students in exchange for degrees. And, like, UCF’s football team is like, really good.
