You know what I want? I want an “I see what you did there button.” Both for the personal validation that some subtle joke/pun didn’t go unnoticed and so that I know to look just a little deeper in posts where I may have overlooked something.

(As to the OP, I also don’t think we need it. Generally folks make their displeasure with my posts known…and rarely their ‘like’ of what I’m saying. I’d say the only benefit to a like/dislike system is simply to get the lurkers view point, and not sure if that’s all that meaningful in any case)

I have the perfect solution.
No like/dislike button, except in the new forum called “Like/Dislike” in which all posting rules will still be in place, except after the OP is posted, the only further contribution is either Like or Dislike.
That way, people can have fun all day long clicking their little buttons and I’ll know enough to stay out of a ridiculous forum like that.

The only thing a “like” feature would accomplish is to strengthen the feeling of “clique-ishness” this place can frequently have.
