I can’t remember where I heard this, but besides the three explanations listed, I’ve also heard that when Lilith was created from the dust, God allowed Adam to watch the process and he was so disgusted by it that he refused to accept her as his mate. Supposedly, this is why Adam was placed in a deep sleep when God made Eve.
