I saw Zachary Levy on G4 last night (they’re covering San Diego Comic-Con), and he just casually mentioned Linda Hamilton signing on to play his mom.
I think this is pretty cool. For some reason, my mind had filled in Mary McDonnell’s face when we saw the brief glimpse of Chuck’s mom in the season finale. I thought she’d make an excellent, actual spy - someone who was more brainy and deceptive than the out-right ass-kickers that the “spies” on Chuck seem to be. On the other hand, it’s hard to imagine anyone better to play a woman of an age to be Chuck’s mother (and Scott Bakula’s wife) who is the kind of action-oriented character the series seems to prefer. I’m fairly optimistic.
Oh, and Olivia Munn’s got a role in the upcoming season. Can’t really speak to her acting ability, but she sure is nice to look at.
Linda Hamilton is a really great person in real life.
Got to meet her ages ago, when she was still married to James Cameron (director of Titanic/Avatar) and she had just finished the film Terminator 2.
Even with her huge burst of fame then, she was very down-to-earth and a fun/nice person to be around. No huge ego, nice to her fans and very generous.
Glad to see she is finding some acting work and hope this gives her career a boost!
We spent a whole season wondering who Chuck’s father was going to be, and it was pretty awesome when we found out it was Scott Bakula, this just seems to spoil a season’s worth of wondering.
If they reveal it in the premiere, I guess it’s no big deal.
That’s the arc of the new season. To find her and learn her story.
Until that last two minutes of season 3, we hadn’t heard barely a mention of her, so I think the assumption by the fans up to that point was that she died when they were kids.
No, they have made references to her leaving, but they never say why. There just never was as much focus on her leaving as there was his dad. Maybe because she left first.
