I was searching lindsay’s posting history, and I came across this one about patients diagnosing themselves:
Wow. I have to confess something - my Dad is a doctor too (notice how that’s never come up on the board before), and it has literally never crossed my mind to inform my doctors about that nugget of information. Who knew that the mere knowledge of my father’s profession would cause a medical professional to panic and turn ashen. Maybe I should try telling doctors about my family in the future. That way they’ll know that they have an intelligent skeptic on their hands, rather than one of those mouth-breathing moronic children of non-doctors.
